  2. Before i read your post, I opened the photo to look at it and said to myself, "I wonder if that is a Sue Mey pattern?" Then i read your post and I had nailed it . Thanks for posting you wonderfully cut pattern', it is very beautiful Dick heppnerguy

  4. Paul, I am learning to enjoy the spiral and cut another piece with them today and You are starting to like the flat blades. How funny is that ? nice picture. I will enjoy seeing it when I can find the time to get to Tri Cities. a lot going on here right now Dick heppnerguy
  5. I think this a pattern he made from a photo he had taken. It looks great and Pendleton is a city near where I live, famous for their wool shirts and their rodeo Dick heppnerguy
  6. there you go.. If they have those kind of dogs, I know they loved these two for sure Dick heppnerguy
  7. Helmut, I like the deer addition at the top of the plaque. I think I will do something in the order too. Nice piece and thank you for the idea Dick heppnerguy
  8. sometimes my saw gets really loud with a combination of some woods and some blades. changing to a different blade will make all the difference in the world. I really do not understand the whys of it but it is what it is Dick heppnerguy
  9. Paul, I have some of the synthetic grease too. They sell it at Napa. It is supposed to be the best grease of all. but I trust LarryEA and if he says the grease is OK then I would use it. Your call. If you need any help,, from there, let me know.. Dick heppnerguy
  10. We are so happy that you landed here. This site is full of people that care about one another and what each is making and maybe if they have new goals, like learning pattern making or mastering the much hated spiral blade. so step up and show us what you have been making and be sure and search through all our hidden corners and see what you can find that your might like . Go on down to the university section and there you will find some great tutorials on pattern making. I hope you come back often and become a regular here. Dick heppnerguy
  11. Welcome, i do not think you will get frustrated here. This is HOME to a lot of scroller and we consider ourselves as family, but no squabbling aloud. give us a good try and I think you will find that you like i here too. Show us your stuff. Tell us a little more about yourself as many here may not know you, but we all want to. Dick heppnerguy
  12. I live in a very dry climate and have never waxed any of my tools or tool tables. I have had my DeWalt for over ten years and it has no rust what so ever. I have never felt that my wood is in anyway difficult to maneuver on my saw table so I never saw any need to wax my saw table. This week, however, I got thinking about how many people use and suggest doing it, I have to confess I have nothing to loose by giving it a try. I am slow to change, as many of you already know , and what the heck, I just might give it a try Dick hepppnerguy
  13. I too think that Larry EA has the best piece of advice I would follow that, if it were me . I have found that using too small a blade does make it difficult to follow the line because they do not have the strength to always follow a turn and tend to want to go the straight path. The thicker blades are easier to change direction with due to their stiffness but at the same time, because of their thickness it takes a little more wood with it as it turns, so one needs to find the one that works best for the project, the wood and most importantly the sawyer. My take Dick heppnerguy
  14. I am finishing up the other two signs today, I hope Dick heppnerguy
  15. A fun idea, Marg. I immediately thought of Roly and remembered the ones he post a short time ago. What are you planning on doing with them from here? Just curious Dick heppnerguy
  16. Nicely done. i was surprised when I opened your post and did not see an airbrush piece. Very nicely done. Never heard or seen a tree with that name before... Dick heppnerguy
  17. These should bring some new lookers in your booth in November. Nice crosses. You have a great idea here that should become good sellers right away Dick heppnerguy
  18. Glad to see you using Bob's patterns. He has contributed so much work and not enough of his are cut. I will have to go back and reconsider some of his patterns too, as I have only cut a few of them. Very nice work on both of your works Dick heppnerguy
  19. Nice momento, I know Bob was excited to be able to help you with a pattern that is so meaningful for your wife and family. It is a very long time to get over something like this. We had a 10 year old greanddaughter who was killed at the ocean when a sneaker wave,(one the comes in unexpectedly and is way higher than any before it) came upon a log that her and two other girls her age were playing on. she was killed the other 2 were safe. I was reading her story in our family album and started crying over her loss. that was 16 years ago. You can only take one day at a time but you will never forget her or what happened. So very sorry....but your plaques are little healing, comforting reminders. Dick heppnerguy
  20. whoa. we would get along well as friends, My wife feels the same way about candy, flowers and jewelry. The very reason I love scrolling is because she does love that and i can always scroll a gift for my bride and know I did well Dick heppnerguy
  21. Denny, I too wish to Welcome you to The Village. This site is well run and the people here are top notch. Everyone is friendly and supportive of one another. I hope you find comfort here and find it a really fun place to be. our world wide family is filled with some of the best people on the planet and it takes no time to get to know everyone if you log on often and comment to the posts and make posts of your own. We love seeing everyones work and hope you post some of yours. Do to the saws you own, it appears you are a serious scroller. I can speak for everyone when I say, "We are all glad you have decided to make us one of your homes for your scrolling places" Dick heppnerguy
  22. I made the box from teh tutorial that Jim Finn posted. Sharon and I have been Elvis fans for a long time so i knew she would enjoy the box with him on it. I found out I could do these little boxes without a lot of hassle. Thank you Jim Finn for the encouragement and the detailed explanations on how to make them. I did not have the kind of Cedar Jim uses and the fact that i am new to making these, makes mine not near as nice as Jim's but hey, this is my first box too. He is a pro at making them and has sold hundreds of them. I am one person who is lucky to have a Jim Finn box in my house, as I bought one for my wife for Christmas from him. I hope to make others soon. I also cut a wrapped wooden candy, Valentine piece for my wife, just because i thought it was a fun design, made by Sue Mey. Dick heppnerguy
  23. Kevin, How are your wrists doing now? Be really careful not to over do things. They need time to strengthen. When they start feeling good is a sign they are getting better but don't forget how much they were hurting and it was not that long ago. Please take it slow and do not get yourself in that predicament again. Dick heppenrguy
  24. I have seen this one cut before but I think yours is the finest one yet. You made it a great piece instead of a good piece. I can see great project coming from your posts. Good imagination Dick heppnerguy
  25. Delivering flowers is a lot of fun. People are even happy to see me, when I have flowers for them. Hard to believe I could make someone happy, isn't it ? Sorry to hear about Patti. We hope she gets better really soon Dick heppnerguy
