  2. Well at least we are all keeping busy in one form or another, just seen a hegner on ebay, might have to keep my eye on it.
  3. HI Wilder, I'm cooking today too, roast beef and yorkshire pud, no visitors though, just a nice peacful Sunday and as it has rained all day I'll be staying indoors. Enjoy yourself.
  4. Very quiet in here just lately, Dont tell me you are all down the bottom of the garden bent over your saws in a dark corner of the shed, i would love to know what you are all up to. Ive really got the bug for doing portraits, I've enjoyed everything i have made so far but making portraits is really something else. I am practising on Gimp at the moment but need to improve a lot before i start making my own patterns, hopefully i'll get there.
  5. Ive seen draper adaptors on ebay too
  6. Welcome Ben, nice to meet you..
  7. Until I read your post I had been using clear lacquer to transfer patterns to wood. I already had a laser printer so I sent for some Xylene, it arrived yesterday and today i tried it out, the results are great and easier to use than lacquer, thanks for the tip, brilliant..
  8. I dont think anyone really beleives they are good enough, I know I am not, like you my family say they love them so i sent some samples out with my wife to sell at a car boot sale, she sold all but one, so even if I dont quite believe in myself it seems others do, so go for it, show Joe Public how good you are.
  9. Thats a good thought Old dust, thats something i might have to try.
  10. Thanks DW, I think i had better take my wife along, she'll talk to anybody....
  11. Hi Robert, I will be taking a mixed bag of things so that i can get a feel for what people want, I have signs, logo's, clocks, simple ornaments and portraits. I wish you all the best for november, I've managed to put together 75 items, not a lot i know but lets see how it goes.
  12. Thank you all for your encouragement, after reading your comments maybe it wont be as bad as i fear. D day is March 10th, I'll let you know how it goes.
  13. Well I've just been invited to display my wares at a local craft fair, I accepted but not sure how I'll cope, I'm much happier tucked up alone in my workshop than facing the public trying to sell. This will be the first time I've tried to sell anything I've made, wish me luck...
  14. Hi, I'm a bit like you in a way, I too am self taught with a little help from online videos and chat sites, I have so far tried all types of scrolling from small gifts to clocks and signs, at present i am enjoying making portraits but i definitely need more practice at converting photos to patterns, its not as easy as it looks, All the best, Doc.
  15. I've been thinking of upgrading to a Proxxon DS460 scroll saw, has anyone out ther got one, tried one or have any thoughts about them, good or bad, I would appreciate any insight, thanks in advance.
  16. Hi, inspirations, I have ben looking at both the axminster and the hegner but the one that has really caught my eye is the proxxon, cheapest i've found is 371.00, very tempted. And Hi to you too wombatie, thanks for the welcome.
  17. Hi Jim, Nice to meet you.
  18. After being made redundant over 2 years ago I decided on the spur of the moment to buy a scroll saw, i have never looked back, i took to it as they say like a duck to water. I have owned my Erbauer saw for about 5 months now and am already looking to upgrade. There seems to be a lack of clubs in my area (Leicester, England) So her i am, Hi Everyone.
