  1. This is for my sister who had to put her dog Sadie down. Grampa Paul made the pattern for me. Thanks Paul!
  2. I took mine off right away
  3. Thank you! So do you heat up the mixture before you apply it to your project?
  4. Kevin, not to hijack the thread, but what is your ratio of beeswax and mineral oil.
  5. That is one cool looking clock. Where are the plans from? And is it 1/4" material?
  6. That's funny! Thanks for an early morning laugh
  7. Wow! That is nice Sparkey, Thank you all very much for your input and opinions. Very much appreciated. I might have to try to lumber from Lowes, But most likely I'll go with 1/4" BB
  8. Thanks NC and Scrappile. NC, I was thinking of stack cutting. What if I went with 3/8 or 1/2"? The reason I'm leary of using BB is all the jagged edges that I'll have to cut (horizontal "gutter").
  9. Grampa was so very kind by making this pattern for me. It's one of the most difficult patterns for me, so far anyways. My question to those of you who do delicate fret work, is what kind of wood should I use. Not sure I want to use Baltic birch. I would like to use 1/4" thick. Pattern is 8 x 11 inches.
  10. Stevan, if you're truly selling it, the Hawk, let me know.
  11. Jerry, not sure if you checked the "craft wood" area at Menards. That is where you'll find good BB. Also, 11% off this week.
  12. Very nice clock Dick! That for sure will be a heirloom. I think fretwork clocks are so cool looking. Plus, they are a lot of fun to make aren't they.
  13. I'm with Rockytime. Floor underlayment, looks and works just as good as BB. And it is much much less expensive.
  14. That is really cool!
  15. Here's what I have to offer. Just finished it. It's called the Royal Game of UR. Older than chess from what I've read. Very fun game. Kind of like Backgammon. Everything was cut on scroll saw cuz it was to dang cold to go out in unseated shed and use table saw.
  16. Happens to both of my EX's. I have to adjust the arm every so often. I like the idea of the blue Loctite, but for starters I will try the rubber band idea.
  17. Wow! That is really nice!
  18. Nice job! I really like it. Straight lines along with letters are very hard to do. Get them mastered and the sky is the limit. I agree with Paul about trying out Pegas blades. ( modified geometry.) it'll make it much easier for you.
  19. In my opinion, Danish oil will give you a nice "softer" luster. When I use the BLO/MS mix it is at 50-50. I've also read somewhere that when using the BLO/MS, mix up only what you will be using at the time. Be very, very careful with BLO and any rag that you use with it. Very combustible if rags get balled up. Burns very hot and very quick. As for cost, not sure which is a better deal.
  20. Big box stores have something very similar. About a third the price. Like others have said, they must stay clean to be effective.
  21. Holy crap! Awesome piece. I agree with Old Hudson, read the books, starting with The Hobbit. Quite the imagination JRR Tolkien had.
  22. Looks pretty darn good to me! Nice job
  23. Unbelievable! Just amazing. I watched three or four times. Was more impressed each time. It was one of those slide shows that I didn't want to end.
  24. What a neat place to be scrolling. And your bowl is awesome!
