  1. That is beautiful! Definitely will be a heirloom.
  2. I also have sold quite a few of these. Instead of penny drop, I was lazy and used coin drop. The coin drop game pictured is 3/8” Baltic birch, 9x5x2 1/2. With a hinged lid. The penny drop is a bandsaw box, made from alder. The dimensions are 7x3 3/4 x1 3/4. it is a lot of fun to play. I include two rolls of pennies, laminated directions and a $1.00 scratch off. I tell people that the pennies should stay with the game. (Who the heck carry’s pennies these days). The scratch off is used as an example of what you can use as a prize for the winner. Plus, it’s great marketing.
  3. WOW!
  4. Beautiful! I too like the grain.
  5. Those are really nice. Being a Clown, I am partial to that being my favorite of the group. I have it hanging behind my bar. May I ask where to get the patterns for the dog and the two kids in the puddle?
  6. Very nice! I agree about the stained glass
  7. Thank you
  8. Ron Johnson has a game in Bragging Rights using Canary wood. I’ve made a few birdhouse ornaments with Canary and the wood sure is beautiful and easy to work with. Also seems like you don’t need to put a finish on it. I’ve had a board for over 10 years and it looks as fresh as the ornament that I just finished. Also, I had a 2x8x12 piece of alder lying around. I’ve never used alder and find that it’s easy to work with and in my opinion, very pretty in a plain sort of way. I made a Penny Drop game using the bandsaw box method, finished with a few coats of shellac. If there is anyone looking for different woods, these two are certainly worth a try.
  9. Very nice. How do you like working with Canary wood? Also, what are the dimensions if I may ask.
  10. That is really cool! And a Merry Christmas back at ya.
  11. I agree with Sycamore
  12. Thanks! What ratio do you use with canned shellac? (Not asking about flakes)
  13. Wow! that is one hell of a nice piece.
  14. Congrats on the new saw!
  15. Question for you Denny. What do you dilute the shellac with and what is the ratio? Most of the time I use spray shellac. But the aerosol fumes can get overwhelming at times.
  16. Very nice!
  17. I agree. When I am finished applying my finish, I hand sand with a piece off of a brown paper bag. Gives a very smooth surface
  18. Those are beautiful Rolf!
  19. I use 1/4” when making Gingerbread Men and ugly sweaters. 1 1/4” square for compound birdhouse ornaments
  20. Impressive!
  21. Yes it did. Any idea where one would get the pattern?
  22. Very nice work! The one that caught my eye is the Christ piece.
  23. Nice work Frank!
  24. Thanks for the heads up on this. Much appreciated
