I’ve been scrolling for almost 10 years. Started with a dremel scroll saw and it kind of turned me off to scrolling. My nephew gave me an old Type 1 DeWalt. Much better machine! I then graduated to an EX-21. Loved it so much I bought another one. I ran these two Excaliburs for 5-6 years. One of them died. So I wasn’t too happy about that. This past February (?) I bought a new Hegner 18. Love it, love it, love it! Expensive? Heck yeah, but worth every penny. It almost, and I say almost, makes the Excalibur seem like a piece of crap, which it isn’t. The Hegner is very very smooth. Blade changes, in my opinion, is much easier with the Hegner. I’d buy another one in a heartbeat. If my remaining Excalibur dies, you can bet, I’ll buy another Hegner. Or at least I’d like to..
No, I’m not wealthy and I don’t have a lot of money. But I’m pretty sure the Hegner will be around long after I leave this round rock of ours. Not sure if I can say that about any of the other saws I’ve had.
