Gonzo got a reaction from OCtoolguy in Which table saw?
I have the Bosch T3000 table saw. I have had it for 5 years. Yeah, it's a "contractor's" table saw, big whoop. It does everything I need it to do. I think I paid $500.00 for it, brand new. Like you Ray, my budget was in the same range as yours. Would I buy it again? For what it's worth, In a heartbeat.

Nice piece and I think your frame looks great. I do agree with you, frames are not that easy to make.

I generally shoot a picture of my work, with a sexy woman draped over it. No one seems to complain about the photo. RJF

Two questions for you and those who do intarsia
1) Do or did you start in the middle and work your way out.
2) Do you make quite a few copies of your master pattern and then cut them up and glue/paste the individual pieces of onto the wood? Or do you use tracing paper?
Ok that was 3 questions. The reason I ask is I'm about to undertake a beginner intarsia piece that has 37 or so pieces.

I saw it last night while reading magazine. Saw your name and where you're from, but didn't connect it with this forum. Nice work and congrats!

Gonzo reacted to trackman in Cutting chess pieces
I cut a set out of walnut an popular. Used Pegas MG # 5. It has been awhile but I think I was able to cut 4 pieces with one blade.

Gonzo reacted to GrampaJim in Noah's Ark
New project, a whimsical Noah's Ark. Its about 17x17" and has about 62 pieces. At least 10 different spices if wood used and as always - no paint, no stains.

Awesome! Before reading everyone's comments, I too, was wondering how many holes in his mustache. Again, awesome work!

Gonzo reacted to RabidAlien in Sawdust compound cut
After a fairly craptacular weekend, I needed to create something that didn't fall apart or...worse. Cut most of this Sunday afternoon/evening, and finished up this afternoon after work. 2x4 ripped down to 1.5x1.5, used several #3 and #5 Pegas MG blades. Stained "Weathered Oak", but depending on how it looks once dried, I may re-stain it Provincial.
Dunno what I'm going to do with it. Just needed something to go right-ish.

Gonzo reacted to trackman in Wedding Gift
A girl/woman who rode my school bus from K - 12th is getting married September 5th. She also has 2 years in the army now. The pattern is from Sheila Landry. Made out of birds eye maple. I added the pin and slot joints to make it stronger. Cut using #3 & #5 MG pegas blades.

Gonzo got a reaction from Dave Monk in Last Supper
Thank you all for the help. I did make 4 or 5 copies of the pattern and I have the pieces numbered and cut out from the pattern. I'll be heading out to the shop shortly and start making sawdust.
