  1. Very nice baskets.... The only way to answer your question is if they sell real quick,,,, maybe you didn't ask quite enough,, if hey don't sell, well for your area, maybe too much..In my area, people hoo and awe at hand made craft items and then move on.. All depends on the area... Maybe someone in your local will speak up..
  2. I don't buy filters for my box fan... I buy furnace filters that happen to be a size to fit right on the front of my 20" x 20" box fan..
  3. Well,, they may do the same for their scroll saw... brushes are an expendable item...
  4. Great job... Like the backer ideal also...
  5. They are sooo pretty.... Congratulations!
  6. Sorry,, what I wrote really made no sense... I had just finished watching a few episodes of "Meat Eater" on Netflix... It start out "I am a meat eater,, I live to hunt,,, I hunt to live,, I am a meat eater".. Guess I had that running through my head..
  7. Like what you are doing.... Didn't see my favorite of all pickups I have had though... 1966 Ford,,, but close!
  8. Love the first one,,,, don't even understand the second one... but you know, me and phones... Mine,,,, for real:
  9. Dick,,, so glad you are getting scroll time... We are so different.... I get lots of scroll time but little family time,,, You get lot of family time, but little scroll time.... I am sorry for you!! Just kidding,,, I am envious.. Very nice toy and you did a great job of it...
  10. I do and agree with every thing Ray just wrote, with the exception that I have a pretty good selection of blades in two brands,,, Pegas and Flying Dutchman... I use a lot of different blades, usually they are no bigger than a #3. But I change blades when they break (of coarse), and when I feel they are getting dull... I can feel that for all the reasons the Ray stated.
  11. Love those... I'm wondering if you know Peter Crowe (Crowie)?
  12. Welcome to the village... Glad to have you join us...
  13. Those are great!! I wish I could paint like you and other folks on here..
  14. Looking cool!,, and looking like a lot of work..
  15. Seem like it have been awhile since you last posted one of your cool boxes.. A beauty as always... I have to say though,,, I spent some time trying to wipe that black mark appearing on the lid, off of my computer screen before I realized it was in you picture! Trying the inlay is about three places down on my bucket list... Keep the inspiring boxes coming..
  16. There is an article on this in the university I think,,,, let me look.. Well check back... Can't find it right now.. See if this work,,, I saved it a while back... can't remember who provided it...: This is the way I create a grey pattern with a red outline in Inkscape. I have a preference for these colours as I find a black line difficult to follow with a scrollsaw blade whereas my blade stands out against a red line. I've condensed the process into 6 stages. 1) At the Top Lefthand corner of the page there is a 'File' button. Click on this and a box will drop down. Click ‘Import’ button and find the pattern you want and click on it and that will take it to your Inkscape screen. Click on your image so that it’s got a 'box' around it. 2) At the very top of the screen you will see a line of various words (File-Edit-View) etc. Click on ‘Path’ and a box will appear, then click on ‘Trace Bitmap’ a drop box will appear on the screen and show you the pattern that you've 'outlined' Click on ‘Live Preview’ if you don’t see it and your pattern will appear in the box Click on ‘OK’ This will make an SVG copy of your pattern. 3) Click on and drag the copies apart. The ‘top’ copy is the one you use. 4) Highlight this copy and click on the ‘Grey’ paint box at the bottom of the screen and this will turn the pattern Grey and you will see that colour in the ‘Fill’ box that is at the very bottom of the page. 5) While you still have your image highlighted, Right Click on ‘Red’ paint at the bottom of the screen and a box will popup, select ‘Set Stroke’ and this will give you a Red outline, you will see this in the ‘Stroke’ box that is underneath the 'Fill' box. You can also adjust the width of the outline by doing a ‘right click’ on the tiny numbers next to the ‘Stroke’ box, a drop box of widths will appear ( I use 0.25 as this suits my #3 blade nicely) but you can play with the different widths until you find one that suits you. 6) Go to the 'File' button at the top lefthand corner and choose 'Print', this will open a 'box' so that you can chose your printer. I then click the 'Preferences' button and it will show me whether I've chosen 'Portrait' or 'Landscape' on my Inkscape page. I personally then have to go to 'Advanced' and choose A4 paper size as that's what we commonly use here in the UK, I'm not sure what any other country has as a default but there are a few choices. You can then print your pattern. Bear in mind that Inkscape only prints what is inside the 'page' that is shown on your screen. I then ‘save’ these changes so that if I cut the pattern again it’s already sorted and ready to print.
  17. Yep,,, I think they are neat,,, but at today prices, well any prices,,, they and most of the beautiful multi layered patterns,,, that are popular are not for me... Love, but wood is too value to me..
  18. so @heppnerguy How is the chess set going?? I have not started yet... I am a sawer... I saw to live.. and live to saw... I am a procrastinator!! You would never figure out where that thought ever came from...
  19. Well the nice thing about pumpkins, is you carve them out, use them for a short period and then they rot and you throw them away..... nothing to store,,, AND, they are good to eat also. My wife makes a delicious ground beef thingy that she bakes in the pumpkin,,,, very good. Then there are pies, cakes,,,etc.
  20. Here is my take, and it has nothing to do with the metal filters,,, I know nothing about them.. I had a fancy setup with the pipes,,, fancy nice Fein Dust extractor.. I use it for 2 month past its' three year warranty and the motor fired.. I am not going to buy another,, I dug out my old Lasko and hung it on a projector screen stand,,,and have it right next to my saw, I can adjust it to the height I want and easily move it between saws... I've decided this is what I will use from now on.. I honestly have less dust in the shop and house... I know it is working better than the fancy set up I had because my nose does not get plugged up like it use to after hours of sawing... I have more sawdust under my saw that I have to vacuum up, but that only takes a minute and that dust is not floating around the shop or up my nose.. So I am back to where I started many years ago. I am really happy with this setup...
  21. Very, I mean VERY, well done...
  22. Never liked shaving with an electric razor... but I only shave a couple times a week.. on my neck and around my beard... A blade lasts me for months... I have only had a beard since 1966.... some day I may shave it.. but I am afraid my wife and nobody else in the family would know me...
  23. I have had my HF heat gun from way back when my son and I were into RC airplanes... I built them he flew them.... He was round 12 at the time we got in to it.. I used it to heat shrink the mylar covering for the planes. He is now retired Navy after 22 years and flying for FedEx for the past 5 or so years.,, so mine is old... Doesn't get a lot of use anymore But I still drag it out on occasion. And he just this year got back into RC planes... A whole lot has changed since we first started... The radio and controls are now so sophisticated compared to the old days..
  24. Dan,, that is a fine looking trivet... one I would hang on my wall... Looks like a lot of work..
  25. Common,,, who has a hair dryer in their shop,,and who has the bravery to use their wife's... I use my $9. Harbor Freight heat gun that I have had for years and years...
