  1. What you did is an excellent job of producing a beautiful piece... I have a cut of it completed,,,, but not finished.. like you did, I want to back it with stained glass.. I have three pieces waiting of stained glass backing... I just need to get to our local stained glass supply shop.... I don't have the knowledge or tools to cut the pieces I need, so I am hoping they will do that part for a reasonable price...
  2. Great job. Really like the lighted arches. Where to you get lights of them? I always have trouble deciding about lights,,, most strings of lights I see are like 12 ft. long or so..
  3. @Mark SW, I think most complaints were related to service, not the saw itself... Do they have one in stock? I would not be skeptical if they had one ready to ship... This is just my opinion, I have not dealt with them, I'm just basing it on what I have read on here.
  4. Question is your husband a hobby woodworker or business? How often would he use one? Approximately General what are you willing to pay? I for instance, use mine occasionally, only do hobby and I do not need the top end one... All the time I used my Delta, I never had the helix head, they are as much or more than the planer, and I was totally satisfied with the results I got with... Other are not..
  5. Not really, but I suspect in the family room in our basement where most my hobby stuff is...
  6. Great cut! I really like that pattern also.
  7. Just a few months ago I purchased a DeWalt 734 on sale.... I love. I think @OCtoolguy is thinking of the DeWalt 735, a little more expensive and a step up from the 734. I would have bought it if it had been on sale.... But, I know this 734 will serve me well. It is replacing a Delta that I have had for years and worked it hard. So I think the Delta is a great one also.
  8. Brenda, you say you don't have the skills,,,, I saw that gorilla you cut... It is far more delicate than this clock... You could easily do a cut like this.
  9. That is awesome!! Great cutting. Dick, you are always one step ahead me. Another one of the projects I want to try this year... In fact this past week end I took Patti and a quilting friend of hers to a street Quilt and woodworking show... Of course I wanted to see the woodworking part. Plus a great friend was taking part in the show with the local turners club. We had a great talk and decided that sometime in the near future, we would make chess sets.... He would turn his pieces, I will do the 3D pieces for mine.. We will make the chess boards together, because he does segmented turning and knows how to cut little pieces, safely. He has the jigs for it. I just do not know why you had to go and move.....
  10. Darn, this made me search via internet at local stores and the one I use 3M 77 "Super" is not available. There is a 3M 77 (not super) available,,, not sure the difference, but I am going to give it a try.. We need some people with boats to run out to all those supposedly tankers sitting off the coast of Calif., waiting to get unloaded, and start picking up supplies for us...
  11. sorry, meant to mention that.. it is all 1/4" Mahogany. I love working with Mahogany.
  12. Okay I am pretty proud so far.... Not finished, need to take it back apart, for final sanding, and fitting, then apply a finish.. Finally re-assemble with glue. But I thought I'd show it now... gett'n old, you never know.. The cutting was pretty easy, the getting assembled took as much time as the cutting, well not quite ...But I it took some time. Just one I have wanted to do for some time... I purchased the plans a couple years ago from Pedro in Spain... (Finescrollsaw.com). It is called the Cremona Wall Clock. The clock is 31" tall, 12" wide.
  13. Nice job, Dick, hope Sharon gets feeling better quickly...
  14. Very interesting... Yep,, I got my 3 month old son up at 3am or there abouts, to watch the landing on the moon.... He doesn't seem to remember it.. I've always been amazed at space travel... We really should be far more advanced than we are now in that area, but to me, not given the priority it should have been given.. I will go back and read absorb more of this... Thanks for sharing..
  15. I have made several of those stands, different sizes for different things, the work well and look nice..Good job!
  16. Here is my weak spot... I can scroll, but I can't always look at a picture and see a pattern.. To me that is the major difference between me, have a pattern, cut out the black, save the white, I can do that pretty good and You, see a picture,,, as an artist, and make it work for a great picture.. Awesome!!
  17. Wow, that is an "oldie but goodie" saw. Made in America I bet...or maybe Canada... no matter,, great saw.. Is is variable speed or do you change a belt? I'd like to see you work,,, start an Album of your work... I wish more people did, I love to look at other people's work... it inspires me..
  18. Not me!! I like free speech..
  19. Great job on that piece...
  20. Great cutting! No not my style of pattern, but I know great cutting when I see it... Lot of grain in that piece of plywood... I don't see that often.. It all adds up to a great picture...
  21. Yep, the last one is close to home... When I do laundry, put clothes or what ever in, dump soap and press start!! What the heck,,, it is an automatic washer,, It will figure it out.. why doesn't my wife understand this... Great cuttings... I just can't get started on Christmas yet,,, hit me again around the 23rd of December.....
  22. This is great,, to have you back,,, so miss your coin cutting... Looks great...
  23. Very nicely done..
  24. Very well done. I have scrolled that before and I think it is my pick to give to family and friends this Christmas.. I would only have to make 5 or 6, don't have many friends....
