  1. Welcome aboard! Nice projects you have done...
  2. That is a beauty, congrats on the blue ribbon.... I have been real tempted to put some in our county fair, for the same reason you did... maybe get some people interested in scrolling... Our fairs woodworking section does not get many entries..
  3. Well done, Barb. I want to give that segmented one a try this Winter.
  4. I don't,,, I don't have one of those phones!
  5. I like those,,, very nice!
  6. Thanks for the videos.... This looks much simpler to make and less complicated to use than a Chevalet, or do they each have different purposes?
  7. Some of the earlier ones were single speed... @Jim Finn has one that is single speed, I think.
  8. It was worth the stress,,, that is a great piece.. I don't like cutting something that is requested even it there is no dead line!!
  9. Does look fun.... Any way you could make a video of it in use??
  10. That looks great.. I cut it but didn't do the stand, wanted it to hang on the wall.... I cut it in black walnut... I like the oak you did better...
  11. Myth in my opinion.. which if worth absolutely nothing..
  12. Very well done,,, Beautiful clocks..
  13. Ha, ha,, ha, I have owned a DeWalt, Excalubur, Seyco and Hegner and I could/can not top feed on any of them... I need a video of someone feeding a 2/0 straight or spiral, or a 3/0 spiral blade, down through a #70 drilled hole in fret work.. I do it by removing the blade from both top and bottom clamps.... hand feeding the blade through the little hole in the wood and hole in the table, then clamping the blade in both clamps... Is that how it is done? Is that called "top feeding". I can't answer your question,,, I can not top feed on any scroll saw (for my kind of scrolling)... I am too much of a clotz I guess.
  14. One thing, I am not good a paying attention of grain direction and on fragile pieces that is important. That could have been the problem, I don't know, but cherry if fragile in thin pieces...
  15. One thing I can tell you about that clock,,,, do not try to build it out of Cherry! I did, and the 1/8" thick pieces broke every time they were touched...! Mine ended up on a bond fire!!!
  16. Ahhhhh, come on... ahhhh,,, well you are correct.... but I love my Hegner..
  17. You did an awesome job, Bob! One I would like to do... can you tell me where the pattern is available.... I looked on his web page, with free patterns,,, I did not find it.... Does he sell it somewhere?? NEVER MIND,,,, I FOUND IT....
  18. Looking at the video, the foot switch is wired directly into the speed control box... I wonder is it could be retro fitted into a control box that is on a current Hegner like mine or would one have to buy a whole new setup... that could be pretty expensive, I would think..
  19. Well I think the amount of foot lazyiness on my saw,,,, I find is directly related to the amount of Irish Whiskey consumption,,, Fust skidding.. hick...!!
  20. Welcome, Glad to have you join... I just spent about 4 hours visiting with a scroller from Arizona .... @heppnerguy We have, at least I have a great time every time we are able to get together... Maybe you and him live close enough it would work to meet.... Great times...
  21. Interesting... I know the lazy foot thing... I sometimes let my saw stop because of it... I always thought it was because I was concentrating so hard on my work that I forgot to push down...... but I would still like to try the speed control with the foot switch thing... Just because... well works on a sewing machine..
  22. If I did it I would brag about it,,,, but omit telling that I didn't measure the box first.... Looks very nice..
  23. I don't know if I would like it, but I sure would like to try that type of pedal to see... Just seems to me to make sense...
  24. What?? I have a pedal from Hegner... does not do this... do you have a site where I can read about it... I am not in Europe.. maybe that is why I don't know about it..
  25. Really well done and a nice gift.
