  1. I put my blade in the quickclamp, all the way to the back of the clamp. I then lower the arm further until the blade starts to bend from being pushed down at the top of the clamp... I tighten the screw, release the arm and pluck the blade. Listen to it and adjust the tension until I get a high ping. Also that clamp should be secure in the holder, the knurl screw above it should be screwed down until the clamp is secure, no wiggle.. The regular clamps you need to live a little wiggle in the clamp. Yes the tension is a little fussy, but you get the feel of it. Took me a little while to get it right, once you do, it come natural. Had my for several years now, my favorite saw of the ones I have owned... BUT, it still makes me jump when a blade breaks...!
  2. Very well done.... She will be pleased.
  3. You should get a pattern of the second picture of her holding her art work, cut it and send to her... with love from grandpa....

  8. Seems to me like I spend a lot of time in my shop, but get very little finished.... Well I did finish one yesterday. It is another Fiona Kingdon pattern. Called "Foliate Crucifix". Cut in maple, 10" in diameter 1/2" thick. Finish is dipped in BLO/MS then sprayed with 4 coats of Deft satin lacquer.
  9. very cool!
  10. Both very nice... To dust the unpainted one use some canned air to blow the dust off. I have an electric blower for things like that. You could also build a shadowbox to put it in.

  17. @octoolguyI use to have that book, went looking for it when you first mentioned it.... could not find it, I think I sold it in a yardsale several years ago, when I thought I had enough hobbies.... I just ordered another copy of it from my favorite ebay used book store for $8. Now I will find the one I thought I sold! Best way I know to find something is to buy another...and darn there it is!! You know what I mean?
  18. Arm down and tension on from my table top to bottom of clamp I measure 6.7. But that could be different for each machine depending on how much tension a person uses, type of blade, etc. Maybe that is not what you are asking..
  19. I keep looking at the booklet and video package, but have not purchased yet... I would like to have hard copy booklets and videos on disk... That way I can lay in bed and watch and read.... I suppose I could copy the videos to disk to watch in my bed room and print the booklets. I hate to burn the inc and paper,,, and an not sure it the videos would copy in a format I can play on my disk player..
