  1. Great to have you join us.
  2. Nice projects and all well done.
  3. The dimple at the top of the Flying Dutchman blades is only on one type of their blades, I think. I can't remember which type, do know that it is not on all their blades. I have Pegas blades that are not cut square on the ends, not sure it is on both ends, but have not noticed a "notch" cut out the Kevin pictures. The not square end is not a problem for me, I grind the top end of all my blades (even spiral) to a point. Makes it much easier to feed them through the tiny drill holes.
  4. Well done!
  5. Really like the way you did this portrait. Nice job.
  6. Very glad to have you joining us.
  7. Congrats on the new saw. I have some frustration with mine when i first tried it. I even put is aside for a while then decided, I bought it, I have to figure it out. I was breaking blades. Advanced Machinery was a big help and answered every question I could come up with. They told me they were going to stick with me until I loved the saw, and they did. It all boiled down to getting comfortable with the tension. Once I got the feel for it, no more problems and yep I love the saw. Will not part with it. I hope you purchased the "Quick Clamp" to go with it... sure makes life easier.
  8. Thanks for the update. This is something I will fill away in case I experience similar problems. Glad you got it fixed and so easily.
  9. Glad you are joining us.
  10. Glad you are joining us.
  11. Congratulations!! I think you will be very happy with it.
  12. Very fine job. No doubt who that is!
  13. Very nice cutting! Reducing the size as you did makes it even more difficult. Congrats on a great picture.
  14. Great work, and who doesn't love the Grinch...
  15. Great scrolling!
  16. Dave, when I grow up I want to do projects a well as you do. Not just the cutting, but the whole package, selection of wood, finishing, and putting the whole package together. In my opinion yours are always a cut above.... Beautiful work.
  17. Super boxes!
  18. Good question. I read if lubricating the flex shafts for other rotary tools like Foredom and such. I have never lubricated my Dremel one and maybe I should....
  19. I was just viewing projects at the Lumberjocks site and saw this. This does not help getting to the middle of a very wide board to drill holes, but it would be an option for those with a drill press with a chuck that does not hold the real small bits. I guess you could also buy some extra throat depth by rotating the jig so it holds the Dremel tool in the front the drill press head or further out to the side.
  20. Great rendition of old Festus. I was a big fan of the show. I remember one time Chester (Dennis Weaver) was a guest on the Ed Sullivan Show. He came out on the stage with his "Chester" stiff leg, limping around. When he went to sit on a stool to play his guitar and sing, he kept sliding off the stool because of his stiff leg, After about three attempts at staying on the stool, he said something like "ah shuck the heck with it" and bent his knee just fine. The whole audience gasped. They all thought he actually had a bum leg from watching him on Gun Smoke. Okay,,, just one of those things I remember from the old black and white snowy TV days with our bowtie or rabbit ears antennas.
  21. Some very cool cuttings, Rob. Great!
  22. Very nice! If you compare the Sycamore you used with the sailor clock Macman posted, you will see why I think his wood is also Sycamore.
  23. Nice bowl. Very well done.
  24. If I were a betting man, I'd bet Sycamore also. Nice looking project.
  25. Dick. I'm hoping you will let us see your glass etching. That is a whole new art. I thought you did glass etching with a sand blaster or some chemical.... I want to know more...
