  1. Welcome to the village. That is a nice looking chest board. Hope to see more of your work soon.
  2. I saw a similar piece on Scroller's Cafe, a quilt block memorial for a quilter lady that passed away. It was done my a member named Driver. I just thought it was really neat and so I made one for my wife. Not a memorial, just to hang in her quilt room. Heppnerguy did the pattern for the saying that will hang below the quilt block. Thank you, Dick and thanks to "Jollyred", "Worbler" and "Birchbark" who also made patterns. I will use them if I get more requests for this piece. I really enjoyed making the quilt block and know I will make others. I hope to improve my jig that I used to cut the 32 triangles with. It is just a hair off. Does good, but not perfect. On the quilt block I used: Zebra Wood, Bloodwood, Black Walnut and Sycamore. The plaque is Butternut.
  3. In my area of the U.S. last year I saw two G-4's for sale on Craigslist. Both looked to be in like new condition. I almost traded a rifle for one, but I backed out. They wanted $750 for it. I do not know if it sold for that, but it was listed for a couple months. The second one, they were asking $950. It is no longer listed don't know if it sold either. I really thought $950 was real high, actually I thought $750 was a little high. I have been to by a Hawk expert, that the G-4 is one of the best Hawk models of the older ones.
  4. Holy cow what a fine job especially for using such a large spiral. Great cut, Dick.
  5. Yep, immediately had a hunger for chocolate! those are very well done.
  6. I agree, painting, except for mine really takes it up a notch, mine takes it down about 2! She really does a nice job on your really nice cuttings.
  7. Mighty fine looking work area!
  8. Very clean cut! How are you liking that Hegner?
  9. I know the Hegner Quick Clamp fit in the Seyco.
  10. Beautifully done!
  11. Very nice pieces, well done.
  12. I really like these. Very well done.
  13. Been there... Good thing I love to scroll.
  14. Great key rack. I am a big Kokpelli fan.
  15. I simple could not choose, but I know in additions to the ones mentioned, I have to select from Mike Williams, Charles Hand... and Pedro of Finescrollsaw, I don't think he really designs patterns but restores old patterns to be usable today. I just could not pick a favorite.
  16. Bill, so glad you are moving to our village. Look forward to seeing your work. I like to make instruments also, but I have no musical abilities as far as playing. The only one I have built that I can play is a hand crank street organ. I look forward to seeing your dulcimer.
  17. I'm thinking (so watch out), Call me crazy, but I think In Exotics: 1, 2, 6 are Purple Heart just because of color in the picture. 3,4 Mahoganys maybe two different kinds. 5 is a common "I Don't Know" exotic. Domestics: 1 & 7 Cherry, 3 oak red(?), 2,5,8 Maples, 4 Cedar (no doubt) and 6 Elm. There you have it, take it to the bank! How's that?
  18. Sorry Kevin, but you put out great work in utter chaos! Nice work as usual.
  19. That is just really really neat!! Great work.
  20. My thoughts are Seyco is selling parts for the Ex and if those run out the Seyco parts will fit. I am more concerned about Seyco continuing to sell their scroll saw. With the Ex 21 now back and the King saws, they have some stiff competition. Their advantage before was the 21" the most popular size, they were making the only one, now Ex is back with their 21". That is some real competition. So I guess you are just as at risk with a Seyco as you are an Ex. Frankly I don't really worry about it. I had Ex for some time, never had a problem with it. But I do not recommend any saw to anyone any more. What I like others may not. Saw preferences are in the eyes of the beholder. I own a Seyco.
  21. They wouldn't even wait until my walnuts were ripe. They just pick them and throw them on the ground. Clean out the whole crop.
  22. Oh, I see, I didn't read the rules... okay but it was your "idea" to use someone else's pattern. That has to count.
  23. Home Depot has the 16" Excalibur $579 buy online free pickup at store. The 21" is out of stock. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Excalibur-Excalibur-120-Volt-16-in-Tilting-Head-Variable-Speed-Scroll-Saw-EX-16/205414438
  24. How did you cheat? That is beautiful. I saw that pattern and thought I would have to add a line across the bottom that says "I am your thorn!"
  25. I especially like the vase of roses. Is that vase done by inlay or part of the backer with the heart clued on. Really a nicely done piece.
