    Padauk

One of my favorite woods. Very pretty little dwelling.
  2. Yes a very great cut!
  3. I used several different blades, trying to decide would worked best for me. I used #1 & #3 PS, #1 & #3 PSR Flying Dutchman blades #1 & #3 Double skip and #3 MG Pegas blades. I was confused! didn't know what I wanted.
  4. Very nice houses. Love that wood.
  5. I can't wait to see that. I want to try coloring one a little one of these days, but I will try it on a simpler pattern first.

    Mugs

WOW and WOW some very nice mugs!
  7. Great bird houses. Great looking wood you have there.
  8. Nice job!
  9. I do ever so often. After cleaning I put a little dab of "Anti-seize" on the threads of the screws before reinstalling them.
  10. First saw I bought from Seyco was an Excalibur. I received great, prompt service. So much so that when I wanted to purchase a second saw I went to them again.
  11. Great looking wood spirit!
  12. Nice job. Looks like that saw works well for you.
  13. I have had great service from Advanced Machinery. I purchased my saw from them, have always had prompt and good answers to any questions I have had. Very good company to deal with.
  14. As a matter of fact, I did set it on my Hegner,,, but you know those Hegners, rock solid no vibration..... 15 minute epoxy does not give much time. It I think I am going to do more of this kind of stuff, I will invest in a little SystemThree or Aluminite. I have worked with quite a bit of epoxies over the years and I know they are not all the same.
  15. Very well done!
  16. Actually I have found that common with blocks of wood like bowl blanks and such. I have several blanks that have been waxed. I think it is to help keep them from drying and cracking. Cutting/turning it off is what I have always done. I suppose a scrapper would get a lot of it.
  17. That is terrific! Really a nice job. How big is that?
  18. It is 5/16"
  19. Just got the pattern removed. Took me 2 hours, to remove it, I think for this kind of detail cutting I will go back to painters tape instead of the clear shelf liner. This is a Charles Hand pattern. I took off about 1/2" of the pattern all the way around, which really only left out some of the brush. This gave me more border for the piece of wood I used. Now I see I didn't get my borders the same all the way around. Still trying to figure how I managed that. I will fix when I decide how I want to frame it. Cut in Basswood. Mr. Hand has nice patterns.
  20. Interesting.
  21. It is old, looks to be in good condition. You probably would not be able to get some of the parts for it anymore, i.e., that motor and the linking in the arms,,, don't make 19" anymore. However if it runs good, it should last a long time. For $200, ya you could get $200 worth of work out of it. The blade clamps are the part of the machine that maybe is replaced most often, if the modern ones would fit it,, You could call Seyco and ask.
  22. I have two would like to have more. Why? I like scroll saws.
  23. Well if it is any consolation, that one also was single speed, no tension release up front and I also noticed it did not have the inset in the table so you could use zero clearance inserts. These are all important to me.
  24. May depend on how you "set Up", i.e. if you cover the piece with blue painters tape, and it sits for a long time, it can become very difficult to remove. I don't know how long that long time is. I do have some patterns mounted and waiting to be cut, and they have been waiting for some months,,,,, guess if I ever cut them I will know. I routinely have two or three projects going at once, so I can switch around, but my "active" projects don't sit long. I am also using the shelf paper stuff now, I don't think it gets hard to remove like painter's tape can.
