  1. Nice pieces, Dick.
  2. My 6 year old grandson has been spending his Spring Break with us. We have been working on this ALex Fox pattern of the Humvee. I stacked cut two, this one I will keep, the second one will go home with him for him and his dad to put together. We had a great time with it. It took me two days to cut all the parts out. Putting it together was easy, just following Alex's video. Thanks Alex for the nice free pattern.
  3. Maybe clean it good as Wayne suggests and when you put it back together put a little light grease in it where it slides on the saw. Something like a small amount of Vaseline. I think I read that in the manual or Seyco told me .
  4. Mine is held on with cheap Harbor Freight "C" clamps. Not as pretty but works good.
  5. That is a beauty, Mike. Great cutting and a great pattern.
  6. I purchased the Ex I had from SEYCO, it came with the swivel thumb screws in both clamps. Maybe Seyco exchanged them on the machines they sold. And I agree with Sam, there is something amiss with your clamp. I never had that problem.
  7. Really a nice one!
  8. That's thinking!
  9. I think the problem is, besides not the right glue, and the small surface area, is the bamboo skewers do not absorb much glue. I have had a lot of furn with this and have not given up. I will get one that works, without falling apart...
  10. I'm liking this. Looks like it could be done with a scroll saw if someone desired to. Please show the finished project.
  11. Nice! I bet it brings comfort.
  12. Really a beautiful piece. Great work.
  13. Forgot, I tried 15 min epoxy also.

  15. When I saw the "Kinetic Gear Toy" , Alex Fox did, I had to try it. I didn't have 4 mm BB so I used 1/8". Cutting the pieces was quick and easy. I had some 1/8" dowel so decided to use it for the pins. Well that didn't work, the dowel was too soft, too small and just kept breaking. So I re-drilled the holes to 5/32" and used bamboo skewer for the pins. Then came the gluing. First I tried "Contact Cement" because it was stated that it was the closest thing to what Alex uses. I could not get it to hold. The gears that needed to stay stationary on the pins,,, didn't. Then I use Titebond II, and it would not hold. Keep in mind there is a very small gluing surface to glue the top gears to the pegs. So I purchased some "Gorilla Super Glue" and it appeared to work,,,, well almost...... turn your sound off, I may have said something I shouldn't have.... Oh, well It is worn out from me gluing, sanding, re-gluing. Going to take a break and try again with 1/4" BB and 1/4" dowels. Still I have had fun trying... https://imgur.com/U2UHURj OOPPPSSSSSSS!

    Welcome

Bet that was not real easy to cut, that thick, oak and lots of beautiful grain. You did a wonderful job of it.
  24. In spite of the problem it still turned out beautiful.. Very nice.
