  1. That is one very fine job.
  2. My experience is BLO dries very slowly. Like over many days. That is an additional benefit of mixing with MS. It speeds up the drying. Even mixed it takes a couple days to dry.
  3. More great work. I do want to cut that bear.
  4. Nice work. I am anxious to see the tree when complete, I think it is going to be beautiful. I think may I will visit our local "Habitat for Humanity" store and see if they have some flooring or other wood.
  5. I think you would have to ask Travis to delete it. The only other option I know of is to edit it so it is a blank post. Be nice to have a delete option but I have not seen one. Sorry you were not able to get help with the pattern.
  6. Having and know how to dry it would be my biggest challenge. I have had little success trying. I know Black Walnut cracks a lot while drying if not done correctly. To resaw will need a good band saw. At least a 14" with a riser block. The only other thing I know is the bark on Black Walnut can be very hard on blades, both chainsaw chains and band saw blades. Where I live there is lots of dust and sand. When I cut some black walnut logs up the bark had lots of dirt/sand buried in it. Dulled blades bery quickly. If you have a saw mill somewhere close might be worth having them saw them into boards.
  7. I pretty much copied this setup, after buying a Fein. I love my Fein! I am very happy with this set up. . I have to fiddle with it now and again to get the suction where I want it. I keep tweaking it and it is just getting better and better. I do not know why I didn't do this years ago. Other than the vacuum I probably have less than $8 in PVC but the Loc-line cost around $70. for the two machines I have. Not that much for one. The loudest sound is the air sucking. It is louder than the noise of the saw and the vacuum. The Fein is a couple GB louder than a Festool and a couple hundred cheaper. I do not know how to make the air sound quieter. I think if you turn off your aids it will not bother you. I also do not have the "trap" that Rolf added, but I may some day. This setup is simple and effective. I use to have a box fan with a filter and used the saws blower. No comparison. I have not vacuumed my saws since I made this set up and I can go to bed at night and breath after time in the shop.
  8. Beautiful! Well done.
  9. Welcome to the village. Great to have you sign in and share.
  10. Regardless how hard, that turned out beautiful!
  11. Ya, I have never had to "adjust" any scroll saw that was shipped to me. If it is a shipping issue, the box would show it and if the box is beat up it should not be accepted. Hawk needs to get this all straighten out or they will go down the tube. That would be very very sad.
  12. That is beautiful!
