  1. Very well cut!
  2. Oh ya, very very nicely done.
  3. Beautiful! I also love the pattern and have cut it.
  4. This is the one I have been looking at. Been corresponding with the seller, and may have made a good new internet friend. I don't have the money to buy it, but we have been having fun discussing a possible trades. This afternoon I opted out, I just flat have no room nor real need for it, but I hope we keep in touch, it has been so much fun. This is a beautiful saw. https://spokane.craigslist.org/tls/d/rbi-hawk-scroll-saw-like-new/6283814439.html In mid America to the east coast I think this would have sold in a couple days, out here in the NW,,,, good luck.
  5. I have had a great day scrolling. First, I told my lovely wife that Sunday was my day, a long time ago. I would do as I want... She has respected that with out complaint, and let me be.. because she was quilting!! Anyway, I made two improvements to my Hegner today. I have been on the soapbox about dust collection lately and today I made a major improvement to my set up. I am a bottom feeder (aka, Carp), so with my dust collection system I have to get it out of the way when I want to go from one hole to the next when doing fret work. I found in my box of old PVC connections a 3/4" hose adapter, I have had a long time. I added it to my set up. The hose adapter swivels and allows me to lift the dust collector nozzle up and out of the way and then put it back in place,, no problem! Second I added an auxiliary table top to enlarge my table surface. I love it. Fixed it so it can be easily removed if necessary. This is the top I had on my Excalibur so there are some extra holes in it but they do not hurt anything. I did this in the morning, and scrolled in the afternoon. Great day, love my improvements. I also added a picture on an additional advantage to making your own cabinet to put your scroll saw on.. Wife would never think to look here!! Hee Hee!
  6. GREAT cuts! I of coarse like the USMC one the best!! Jollyred liked the Bee the best and I will take it he is an X- SeaBee. If you are I solute you. You guy and gals, along with the Navy Medics were the best friends a Marine ever had in a combat zone. The SeaBees and Corpsmen did not fight, least that was my experience, but they were brave heros. I could tell stories of the deeds they did in combat. God bless you!
  7. Holy cow! That Reaper looks more fragile than the viking! That is some awesome cutting! An congrats to your wife, she did an great job painting the Viking Warrior. When you said she was going to paint it, I had reservations, but I really like it.
  8. WOW! An Ex.! You have a great saw. The Ex is no longer made, and it is a great saw, in my opinion. Glad you joined. If you ever need parts or advice about your Ex, go to Seyco.com. Great people. They sold the Ex for years and still carry parts for them.

    Great pattern and cutting.
  10. I've dealt with Klockit several times over the years with no problems. Bear Woods sells them. I have received good service from them but have not purchased any inserts from them.
  11. Spray can of brake cleaner will take the old grease out.
  12. DnD all the way!
  13. Likes like a whole lotta great looking this and that.
  14. I found that a little wire wheel on my Dremel works great to get in places a Mac Mop won't to remove fuzzies. I use it a lot.
  15. Klingspor sells both: Works great on flat or contour sanding. I like the 4" ones. http://www.woodworkingshop.com/category.aspx?id=25&f1=CONTOUR+SANDING+%26+SHAPING&f2=FLUTTER+SHEETS+%26+SANDING+MOPS I like the 2" x 7" ones of the Mac Mop. Really good for removing a lot of the "fussies" off the back of a picture. I found that they sand finer than the grits says, ie, the 180 grid sands as smooth as a piece of 220 grid sand paper. https://www.woodworkingshop.com/search.aspx?q=mac+sanding Both styles are very useful and last a long long time.
  16. Oh, yes. Project in woodworking shop, back in high school. Mine didn't have the nice scroll work. That second one has some beautiful wood. Those would look good with "ScrollSaw Woodworking and Crafts" magazines in them.
  17. You did a great job on this one. The frame really adds to it.
  18. The pattern and cutting look mighty fine to me. What a beautiful little 280Z. My wife and I had one for several years. There was one thing I didn't like one thing about it, it had a voice (nagging female) that told you things like "your lights are on", "your are low on gas".. so some woman was nagging at me even when the wife wasn't along!
  19. I also feel I have received some FD blades that were not up to par. Mainly in the 3/0 New Spiral. That is the only size spiral I like. Most times I have no problems of getting the "hockey stick" effect at the ends of the blade, other times I get a dozen or so that get it all the time. I'm convinced it has something to do with the twist in the blade. I have tried a few of the Pegas spirals and didn't like them as well as the FD's. However, my favorite straight blade was the FD 2/0 PS blades. Then I tried the Pegas 2/0, 0, and 1 double tooth blades and am a big fan. Also tried some of the "modified Geometry" (what does that mean?), and they were too aggressive for the type of scrolling I like to do.. So, "different strokes for different folks". Guess my advice to people would be don' get in a rut, try different blades, sometimes you get something better for you, sometimes not.
  20. So glad you joined us. Look forward to seeing your work. Patterns and scrolling.
  21. I do not think you will be disappointed.
  22. Great one, John. Did you enter it in the Halloween Challenge?
  23. That is a great job cutting that difficult piece, Lawson. WOW!
  24. Some time ago I purchased two boxes of Cocobolo shorts. Still have a bunch of it. I am currently making a Hamsa box out of it. I use a lot of in on the street organ I build, the crank, the rewind wheels and faced the outside pipes with it. It is workable, but yes hard. It also really bothers me when working with it. I get all plugged up in the nose, eyes burn and water.. I do like the smell though. Mine is also very dark, which I think is the heart wood. That is a beautiful board, you have.
  25. Worked well, looks nice.
