  1. That is a great looking bear. I always wanted on for a pet! As for the spray glue, it seems to me that I am experiencing the same thing with the 3M Super 77 that I have been using since I started scrolling. I have been going to try some other brand when I use up my can. I hope to find one with a marble so I can add to my "spray can marble collection"! Been going to ask you if you bought BB from Windsor Plywood last time you were here? I am not happy with the last sheet I have purchased from them. Seems to chip more and have a lot more little knots in it. I wonder if they carry a lessor grade than other stores I have bought from. I am going to shop around some next time I need some more.
  2. Very well done, Dick. He will surely be very happy with that Capt. America. Sad story. He is in my thoughts and prayers.
  3. I checked the internet photo for the Red Grandis. Beautiful wood. I thought they had Eucalyptus In Calif. Maybe a different species. It smelled nice. Huge trees. I could be wrong, that was back when I was stationed a short while at Camp Pendleton.
  4. Bet you sell every one.
  5. Jeff, we all began sometime. Do not hesitate to show what you do. Also keep some or pictures of some and you will have fun comparing after a few months practice.
  6. Jeff you might find some help here also. www.scrollsaws.com Look at the left column and you will see DeWalt. He has lots of info.
  7. Nicely done. Is that Baltic birch?
  8. Very glad to have you join the fray. Look forward to see your work.
  9. I use Cherry sometimes and normally I use the BLO/MS min, then spray with Deft clearcoat, semi-gloss after it dries a few days. Can not tell you this is the best, just what I do. The BLO/MS pops the color and grain, the Deft protects,,, I guess.
  10. Ahhh, another scroller in the Great Nothwest. Welcome to the forum. Maybe we can meet someday, I have a daughter that lives in Portland. I really like your work and the copper is very interesting. What do you use to glue it to PVC?
  11. Very nice cutting. The second one is my favorite of the two.
  12. Well I do not know about this Pikachu stuff and what it is all for, but that is well cut. I'm sure the younger generation is right on top of it. I would make a simple frame for it if I was going to hang it in a public place. Maybe pick one up at a "Dollar Store" is you don't want to make one.
  13. An absolutely beautiful piece. So awfully sad. God bless them.
  14. Glad to have you join us. I think you will enjoy it. Some great articles here in the library that may be of use.
  15. Glad you posted this. I did the Hamsa box from that issue and the plant holders were the other item I have been eyeing. You did a great job and have made me more sure I want to try them in the near future.
  16. I guess you guys are right. I have only had a beard since 1968, so I have only worn out a few blades....
  17. Welcome to the forum. I'm anxious to see some of your work. Working with metal and wood,,, possibilities are endless..
  18. Welcome to the forum.
  19. Really has the "ahhhh" factor. I find myself wondering who you made that for, if not you wife! Great job. I wish I had the artistic eye to add just the right amount of color to pictures as you did here. I really adds.
  20. Very nice and I bet fun to make. I love to make wood things that have movement. I got into a whirly-gig mode once and had a great time. I think my neighbors were glad when I got past it!!
  21. Looks real good Dick. You will be with the master pattern makers soon. If this snow ever decides to leave we need to get together and let me soak up some of your knowledge. We got about 3 inches of new snow last night and still snowing. This is over all the icy old snow that was is still on the ground. I know you said call, but I not smart enough yet to know what questions to ask......
  22. I have a DeWalt and no problem with it. But I also thing Mikitas are good tools. The price is the same, so maybe it is down to whether you prefer blue or yellow..
  23. Very nice pieces.
