  1. Good to have you back. You are going to love your new Ex.21. I wish I had about three of them.
  2. You have every reason to brag. Those are very neat for sure.
  3. Well, ya! It's cold out.
  4. This is from the Scroll Saw Goodies site where Travis sells scroll saw patterns. Not the patterns in the gallery on this forum. Did I misunderstand Sam's question?
  5. Says at his site they: All the patterns sold by Scroll Saw Goodies are instant downloads. After your purchase has been made, you’ll be redirected back to Scroll Saw Goodies where you can download your purchases. An email will also be sent which also includes links to your pattern. The links are good for 7 days and for 7 downloads. If you lost a pattern you previously purchased, contact me and I’ll send you a copy via email. Patterns are in PDF format and require Acrobat Reader (standard on most computers) to view and print from your home computer." "
  6. Well, Art that was worth the wait to see. Beautifully done.
  7. I love that picture, great job!
  8. Welcome to the forum. Those are some mighty beautiful leaves.
  9. Welcome to the forum. Ha, I read you post as "both your parents" and thought, very nice looking mon, but the dad.. not so much!! Glad I read it a second time. Great cutting and especially the old fashion way, with a hand fret saw. Great work. I really admire you talent. Glad you are with us and look forward to seeing more of your work.
  10. Sorry, Randy, I can't help much, I'm a hose drag'r also. I think you can do as Dan says and it will help. I know in woodworking forum there is always lots of discussion in dust collection setups. Like "Lumberjocks", "Family Woodworking", or "Saw Mill Creek". What I find funny is, ever notice how the price of PVC and that type of pipe goes, very quickly, up when the price of oil goes up, but it doesn't come back down as the price of oil comes down. One would think, it would be cheap now.
  11. Turned out "utterly" great! Really, that will work perfect for the cause. The "kids" will love it. I hope they fill it many times over the year.
  12. Been scrolling for a couple years now and still break blades. Not nearly as many as I use to when I started, but I still do. That is why I buy them by the gross. Most places that sell scroll saw accessories, like Wooden Teddy Bear, Sloan's, Mike's Workshop, sell a sample pack of a verity of blades. I purchased a pack of them when I started and I think it was well worth it for helping me try different blades, and finding what works for me for different types of scroll sawing. I still like to experiment with different types and sizes of blades. And remember it takes different types of blades for different types of scroll saw projects.
  13. Over used my quota of "like" so I will say, thank you all for the very nice comment. These little picture I have been doing just for the fun and challenge. I will buy more of this wood at next Summer's carving show. It is really fun to experiment with. Anthony, Larry is correct, I glued a piece of flat black poster board on the back of the pictures. I use poster board. Other use painted thin wood or whatever they like. I guess we call it portrait cutting here. Yesterday after I finished putting my saw back together, I wanted to try it out so I cut out a couple of Steve Good's "Plate Stands" to hold the two little pictures I have done. Had to down size them a little but they work great. I think I will stain the stands darker.
  14. Come on, does not look like first time scrolling to me. Nice work!
  15. Well, I got it back up and running, but like everything else I ended up with a left over part! See picture, the white object. I think it just goes in the upper arm cover to maybe make sure the wires stay in place. Although, I don't see where the wires would go. It runs, it is quieter, and feels like it is running smoother. Need to work with it a while and see if it remains so. Thanks for the support, help and advice. I love doing something like this. It really was not hard. The reason I dove into it, I have had a problem with my table saw for some time that I just kept ignoring, thinking it was my imagination. But the blade seemed to move to the right every time I lowered it and raised it up. When it came up I would have to run it to shave a little of my zero clearance. Finally decided I had to look into it. All that waiting, and it only took a couple house to remove the table top, find the problem, fix it and put it back together. Wasn't worth stewing over. So got a problem with the scroll saw, try to fix it. Don't keep putting it off.
  16. It was about 1/4". I picked up a few pieces of basswood at a local carver show last summer. They were real cheap and I am sure to a carver they were scrap. I'm having fun with them only have one piece left though.
  17. Welcome to the forum, glad to have you join us. Check out the articles section, there are great tutorial in there on Inkscape and Gimp. Great way to learn pattern making.
  18. Very attractive. Nice work.
  19. We are looking forward to having you here. Thanks for joining us.
  20. I wax all my tool table tops about 4 time a year. I have a piece Masonite top of my scroll saw table tight now and I even wax it.
  21. Look great sitting on the Patio. Great job. I have been trying to get my son-in-law to build one for his patio. He thinks I should build it, but he is very capable.
  22. Thanks for the input. The main bearing is not a sealed bearing (see picture). My saw is not quite 2 years old. Fact when I got the owners manual out I noticed it still has a couple months under warranty. Guess I voided that by taking it apart, but where I live there is no maintenance or warranty type outfits. So I would probably have had to do it myself anyway. I tried all the adjustments I could find on the internet. Nothing seemed to improve it much. This may not fix it either, but wanted to try. I'm thinking that if it does, I will try to get new bearing for the old drive and replace them. Have a backup.
  23. Sir, you got well paid. That is good stuff!! The picture is much worth it.
  24. Finished cutting this a.m. (before I tore my saw apart). This is a piece of Basswood about 10" x 5.5". The picture is 8" x 3.5". I lost a few little pieces, anyone that has done this pattern will see the places, but I had a great time with it. 90% or more done with a #2/0 Penguin Silver Flying Dutchman blade. I beginning to really like that little blade.
