  1. As to whether I can get this back together or not! I just could not take the vibration anymore, so being stubborn I decided to try to fix it myself. I order a new leakage assembly for the Ex. It came today so heck dive in. The instructions were typical of these things. They are for an Excalibur of about three generations ago. But looking/reading the instruction and my owners manual parts pictures I was able to get it apart and the old linkage out. I'm hung up now because I know nothing about grease, and the main bearing on the new linkage is not greased. This is what my saw now looks like, my scrolling days may be over, and this is the only type of grease I have on hand. Anyone able to recommend a grease or is this good enough? Think I can get this thing back together???
  2. Fine job. They will be very proud to have them.
  3. Well done and congratulations on you new family member. I envy you, I want another dog real bad, but the wife says no way. I'd like a lab. Great dogs. Nice job on the scrolling.
  4. Never was able to finish a movie of theirs that I started. Not my kind of humor, but you certainly did a great job on that pattern and cutting.
  5. Wonderful job on the cross.
  6. Nice work. Your hubby is into a great hobby. I helped my son with it when he was young. He liked to fly them I like to build them.
  7. I like Popular. Always check it out when I go to H. D. It can have some neat colors. Congrats. You will enjoy.
  8. That is really nice. It is always exciting to get the pattern off clean it up and put it on a backer. Always looks even better than you think it well.
  9. You are on a roll. Great cutting, all of them.
  10. Okay there has to be a story behind that. Nice scrolling.
  11. Very cute and useful.
  12. Beautifully done. Beautiful wood and a great selection.
  13. I love this kind of art. Have some pattern/images I saved a long time ago, but never got around to figuring how I would do it. You really did a beautiful job with yours.
  14. Still turned out real nice. You are really getting this scrolling stuff down.
  15. Great picture! My folk and brother had a couple flower shops for years. I work with them when I was in high school and after I got out of the service. Delivering flowers was a great job. When I retired, I went to work part time delivering flower. What a great retirement job. I did it for around 10 years after I retired. My wife got some Shari's Berries and Sheri's cheese cake bites. She has been sick with the flu and and hasn't got to eat them yet.
  16. So, in my opinion, the solution, Danny, is to buy a saw that you can do either on. DeWalt, Excalibur, Delta......
  17. Here is one option that was posted the other day: http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/topic/18110-new-to-me-a-better-way-to-drill/?hl=chuck I bought a mini chuck that you put in a drill press once but it was worthless. My current drill press will hold them. My old one would not. Some one wrote just in the past few days about the Dremel work station.
  18. darn, thought I was onto something..
  19. Great news, Kevin. Your scrolling has been missed on here as much as you have missed doing it. Life is good.
  20. Okay, one thing I have found difficult about some flat scroll saw blades is determining which is the top of a blade. Which way is up. I do not have good enough feeling in my finger to run my finger along the blade to determine which it the right side. Don't have good enough eyesight to look at them and really tell which way the teeth go, especially blades with reverse teeth. But I think I have discovered something, maybe wrong, but so far it has worked. The blades come wrapped, by the dozen, with a fine wire. To unwrap them you find the loose end of the wire and untwist it from around them. I have been checking and it appears that loose end of the wire is always at the bottom of the blades. So, I unwrap them and put them in the tube I store them in with the end that the wire was loose at first. So when I take them out of the tube the top end of the blade is at the top of the tube..... Check it out and see if I am right.
