  1. What a beautiful picture that puzzle makes. Great work.
  2. I have to admit it is on my mind a lot. But maybe I am closer to a pattern addict. I keep telling myself enough is enough, then I see another pattern I like and I can't stop myself. Just received two new ones in the mail yesterday. I will not live long enough to do half of them.
  3. That is a beautiful piece of jewelry.
  4. That is a real nice job on that project! You are well on your way now!
  5. I think personal preference it the best alternative. Somethings you might give consideration of are, I found I like a stool, with no arms. Stool because it is height adjustible, back can be adjusted in both height and forward and backward. Important to me because of back problems. I tried one with arms and they got in my way. The stool I ended up with was a little expensive, but I think it was money well spent. Helps me to be able to sit longer and enjoy the hobby. The only problem with mine is, right now it rolls too easily. I will correct this with a matt on the floor. I have one, when it dries it will go back in front of my station. The set is not fabric, not sure what it is called, but it is comfortable, and very easy to clean. I ordered it through Global Industrial.
  6. I have never understood why companies with a great history of quality tools does that.
  7. Nice work! Been a Life member since the early '60's.
  8. Very nice.
  9. You are correct. Buying ink is like buying a new battery for a cordless tool. For a few bucks more you can buy a new tool with new batteries. If you watch sells you can get a good new printer for the cost of replacement ink.
  10. Welcome to the forum. Glad you signed up.
  11. That really looks nice!
  12. It is exactly the same. WTB bought out Mike's business and website.
  13. Somehow I missed this post. Those are all beautiful. What does a person do with all this scrolled "stuff". I think my wife as asked that a few times.....
  14. Congratulations on the saw. You will love it. I read once where a scroller that liked to stand while scrolling, fixed the foot switch where he could operate it with his knee. That would be awkward to me but maybe not. Might be worth a try.
  15. Congratulations on an awesome job. Must be very satisfying to do all stages of a piece. Great job.
  16. Be interesting to know what that does to correct the problem. I know you move the motor to adjust the forward/back movement of the blade. It talk about that in the owner's manual. But it doesn't describe returning the motor to the original position. Anyway it is an easy enough thing to try and if it helps, great. I think I will give it a try.
  17. Very nice.
  18. Very beautiful!
  19. Thanks, that worked. I knew I was getting close. I will probably have to ask again next year.
  20. Welcome, Mike. So glad you joined us. I think you will like it here.
  21. Travis, how does a person find out when the annual donation is due? I've been searching and found nothing. Is there notification or something?
  22. For bottom feeding detailed picture scrolling I use a hemostat to help feed the #3/0 blade into the tiny #65 hole and to pull it through from the top. My hemostats become magnetized often. I put heat shrink tubing over the jaws to prevent the magnetism from grabbing the blade where I did want to grab it. Worked great.
  23. I sit. I have my Excalibur mounted on a stand I built from a discarded cabinet I got for free. I straddle it sorta. It has worked out great for me. It is a little below chest high when I am sitting.
  24. Looks like a nice one. I rarely use my band saw because I HATE to have to change blades on it and of course the one I need for the current project is never the one on it. I used it a lot when I was into pen making and other lathe work. Also when I made toys. Not so much for the type scrolling I do.
  25. It is an interesting subject. Like Spirithorse wrote, Charles Dearing sell in several places including a personal website. He also belongs to a lot of scroll saw forums which helps him get known by scrollers. If I were to sell work or patterns, I would try the personal web site route, if I could do it for free or very cheap. The way I find patterns is through internet search. It brings up mostly websites. Add me to the list of those wanting to have the address of wherever you post them
