    This was pretty simple, but I think it is kind of cool. I am and always been a horse lover. I had a little piece of Basswood. Only 11" X 6" was not sure what to do with it. Went through my pattern collection and saw this Charles Dearing pattern. I reduced it down and cut it. An easy scroll, but it was very enjoyable. Hope you like it.

    bglon is correct on the table top size, and it really bothered me when I first got the saw, but after I got use to it I don't even notice it any more. There is an alternative to increase the table size that does not require a machine made metal top. I have a piece of 1/8" masonite on top of my existing table. I didn't do it for size but more as a zero clearance hole for the blade to go through and for more support when sawing delicate area on a picture. It really works well and I am thinking I could make a bigger one it I wanted to increase the table top size. Course the hardest part of this is finding a piece of masonite.

    Great saw, congratulations. I purchased a Magnifying lamp from Harbor Freight for around $40 and it works well. I have since purchased a little more expensive one and it works even better. The reason I stepped up a notch on the light is I prefer LED lights over Fluorescent and the glass lens has less distortion and will not scratch as easily as the plastic one on the HF one. That being said the HF one works fine, I now use it as an extra light to even better light my work. As for the arm lift I had a JimDandy on mine, worked just fine and I am sure the others on the market do also. A block of wood works fine also, except I kept knocking it off the table top. I can not top feed so the lift was required for me.

    Very nice job on both pattern and scrolling. Beautiful picture, nothing need improvement expect adding the finish. I wish I had the talent for the patterns you and others have here.

    Very nice looking puzzle. I do not know anything about this puzzle cutting. Is there a pattern for the puzzle or do you cut the pieces free hand? Looks very intriguing.

    Aside from which saw to buy first, a discussion that can go on for ever, the advice I received when I first started scrolling that actually helped me the most was, relax and breathe normally. Once I did those two things I really started enjoying myself.
