  1. Great job!
  2. Some very nice scrolling. I also like the way you colored some.
  3. Thanks for the kind comments everyone. Multifasited, thank you for the information. I may be running the saw to fast, been running it full speed. Next time I get on it I will slow the speed a little and see how that works for me.
  4. You want to show a piece of work you did, but don't know who did the pattern? I think you can, I notice not everyone states who did the pattern every time. I would just state it is unknown. Hope that answers your question.
  5. I'm pretty new at scrolling, but so far I have used 1/4" BB. I don't sell what I cut so I have not used 1/8" "stacked. I plan on giving it a try one of these days as well as trying some hardwoods.
  6. I just finished cutting this last night. It is the second in a series of Native American portraits I hope to do. The pattern was done by Seyit. This is the most detailed pattern I have tried to date. It is also the first one I have tried doing with spiral blades. I am very glad I got brave and gave them a try. I love them. I learned they do not last as long as a regular blade. It took me 8 or so blades to complete this portrait. I used Flying Dutchman spirals, #3 and #`1. Comments and critic welcome.

Some beautiful work. Where did you get the pattern for the last one. I think there is a place for that in my house!
  8. Welcome to the forum. I have looked (on the internet) at the saws you are talking about, I think. I find them very intriging. You can obtain plans for building one, which I think would be great. I can not remember what they are called.
  9. The Worx is not a scroll saw as we use here. It is more of stationary jig saw. It is not intended to do fret work, or other scroll saw type work.
  10. I have bought boards off ebay and by being selective on what I buy and from whom, I haven't been disappointed yet. Look for sellers with good reputations, one that have been selling there a long time and have a very high percent of satisfied customers, I mean ones that have done a lot of transactions and are in the real high 90's (97%+) on satisfied customers.
  11. Hats off to you for doing a dream! Best of luck. Be safe.
  12. Very well done! Top quality and it will be cherished.
  13. They look great!
  14. very good start. I can't give you advice, I'm just learning also. Well I can pass on two pieces of advice that were given me and really helpful to me. 1 - take a deeo breath before starting to to cut and then concentrate on breathing normally. 2 - Lower your shoulders don't have then raised up around your ears. Simple advice, but really helped me. The main thing this advice was telling me was to relax. Another thing I have done in buy many sizes and types of blades from Mike's Workshop and I have been experimenting with them to determine which ones work best for me on different types of cuts. Between the deer and the duck you can already see improvement, so practice, practice. I'm accumulating quite a pile of practice cuttings. I wish I would have numbered them so I could see if I am improving.
  15. Glad you joined up, and yes, thank you for your service.
  16. Top notch! The knot only adds to it. Great work.
  17. I like that, no, I love that. How about fessing up as to how you did that!!
  18. Yes, this one requires some close scrutinty. Thanks for the info Bendita! And on closer inspection I stand by my first post, very well done.
  19. Thank you very much.
  20. Turned out very nice. As a novice I'd love to know what blade(s) you used, wood type and finish. That type of info helps me and maybe others learn.
  21. Very well scrolled. Mind if I ask what blade(s) you use for your portrait?
  22. He is one of the main characters in the HBO series "Game Of Thrones". He is a dwarf, has a cool personality in the series, does a great job playing his part. I don't have HBO so I've had to purchase it on DVD a season behind the HBO showing. I also have read all the books. As usual the books are better than the TV version (IMHO).
  23. Good work. it keeps coming in because you do good work and are willing to work.
  24. Great job!
