  1. My old Ryobi accepted both pinned and plain end blades. Try a bunch of different ones and you'll find what best works for you. I use mostly Flying Dutchman but have some other brands in my shop also. Welcome to the village and always remember no question is stupid and we all started at the point when we were all beginners and looking for help and answers.
  2. Ray You may want to look at.http://scrollsawer.com/ they have a listing for scrolling clubs on their website.
  3. Ray Olson put out a scroll saw blade chart for reference. You can down load it here and keep if for reference in the future. Hope this helps with your question.
  4. Sorry to hear you had your lumber stolen. Happy to hear the salesman made good on it. I guess you have at least bad apple in every cart, which is a shame. Maybe more salesmen or at least people to move things and watch them ? Life is stressful enough with out adding certain craziness to it.
  5. Sam Did a quick search and found this. Hope it helps ..... Manual
  6. Check with Lee Valley. They used to have a great selection of all hardware and it was quality stuff.
  7. I use masking tape to wrap my stacks. Seems to work good for me.
  8. Congrats on getting your saw. I have had two of them. I made a custom stand that plans are readily available for on the internet. I wish you all the best with this venture.
  9. Iggy Prayers for all the path. My son just went through Harvey in Corpus Christi. Waiting on insurance companies to see what all I am allowed to do. Please be careful and safe. Praying for all.
  10. Congrats on the score. Looking forward to seeing what it becomes in the future
  11. RJ Thanks just went into my living room and found the fall issue. Guess it was intercepted by the Mrs and she didn't see anything she wanted so it got buried in papers and other magazines. Definitely want to cut this when I get the chance.
  12. 'll wait for my issue to arrive then. Thanks for the information.
  13. Been watching this thread. Would like to know what blades your using. Ultra reverse, skip tooth what ever> Have cut many things and not had that problem. Using stable timber for most of my work not sure but this info could help us a lot.
  14. I'm with you Dick. Love the way this looks. Don't remember seeing this anywhere.
  15. Iggy I have done the same thing. Handle it differently and only realized after all the work was done. Details ... Details.. and oh crap :(
  16. Kevin Have done the same thing when searching for a "custom" pattern for a customer. Don't take a lot of work to re-adjust things for the scroll saw and much quicker then designing a brand new piece. Thanks for sharing
  17. I use spirals for pieces that are too large for turning inside the throat of my saw. And being honest, I have butchered pieced a lot worse then that. I always cut my lettering with flat blades.
  18. Seems you get what you pay for as with anything else. Do the homework, may spend a little more but save in the long run.
  19. Thank you for this video. Learned a few things from it. Do mostly good at the shows I do but can incorporate some of the things you pointed out and showed. Greatly appreciated. Thank You
  20. Glad to heasr your on the mend. Just don't over do it in the process. We'll just say been there done that, paid the price. Be safe please.
  21. I went through a bunch of cheaper saws. Ryobi, Porter Cable , Craftsmen. I bought my EX-21 and have not looked back once. The old phrase " You get what you pay for " certainly applies here. I will say, I'm having a bearing (?) problem right now, just don't have time to stop and figure it all out. Still loving it and working around this minor issue.
  22. I absolutely love me EX-21. Having a bearing issue but I'm sure it will be worked out soon. My saw runs 8 to 12 hours a day.
  23. Congrats on the new tool. Maybe you do a review for us? Best of luck with it.
  24. Good job Scott. With tomorrow to go you'll make your numbers. Glad it is working out for you.
  25. I'm sorry to hear about all the problems everyone is having with their DeWalts. I'm hoping you guys get the issues fixed to your satisfaction. Brian congrats on the new saw, I'm sure you will be happy with it, and get many years of enjoyment.
