  1. Now that looks really good Denny.
  2. Travis Just tried it and not sure how it worked out. Guess I'll just watch and see. Been a very long day but wanted to upgrade my support. Thanks for everything. From my heart. Great idea Travis. I just renewed in May ( I think ) but if we wanted could we just add the whole amount as a lump sum payment ? To explain if you wanted to go silver just pay the whole year you would pay 12 time that amount ?
  3. Thanks Kevin Really appreciate the detailed replies and information. So much more to think about and talk to the Mrs. with.
  4. Shipping is tough to figure out. At least for me. I just tell my customers that what I pay you pay. No handling or other charges. Once shipped I send them an invoice and get paid. A little risky but I have not been burned as of yet. I'm sure people list shipping costs online, just not sure how they came up with the cost. Is there some equation used for this? Most times it seems high to me.
  5. RJ other then my lathe, yes all hand work. Thanks for the kind words too.
  6. Here is a bed side table I made for a local lady. It matched one she had from her Mom that was 100 - 125 years old. Made from Cherry. No finish just a picture of the completed project less finish. It was stained to match and finished with several coats of shellac to keep it period correct. Hand cut dove tails, mortise and tenon joints. Legs were turned on my lathe.
  7. I use Adobe Acrobat for this. Guess its all what your used to.
  8. I just do Crafts Shows and a Farmers Market. We advertise special orders welcomed and before I knew what was going on it turned into a full time business. Right now on average I move about 25 to 75 pieces a month. Less in the spring and a lot more in the fall. I have thought and talked to the Mrs. about a web site or something similar but don't have the time to attend to it. The Mrs. is computer illiterate so that would mean having to pay someone to take of it. After reading this it possibly could be worth it . Something to think about. Very interested in what others have to saw also. I also do custom furniture completely by hand which is extremely time consuming.
  9. Ouch. Looks your right about the no pretty manicures for a while. Thankfully it was pretty minor and your nail will grow out. Last time my scroll saw bit me was a very long time ago and it was my fault. Like yours, very minor. So happy it was not a table saw. They are no where near as forgiving.
  10. I bought a wedding bubble blower kit that had 20 tubes of bubbles and they all had lids that were the rings to blow the bubbles through. I dumped into the grand kids bubble we have here at the house, washed them out and made a little stand for them. They are about 4 inches long so the blades stick out the top making easy to get to. I think the whole thing cost me around $7.00 if I remember correctly.

  12. I don't normally do puzzles. But in my experience I have found that speed is the man culprit. Patience is a virtue and learning is a curve. With 1/4 " i really take my time as there is little forgiveness using it. The best I can offer is practice, practice and more practice. Trust me it pays off.
  13. Something I have always admired the village. Someone can always help others. Not blowing my own horn, just following in the steps that others have traveled.
  14. This may help you out. It is a full chart of conversions. I'm sure it will come in handy for others also. Conversion Chart
  15. Exciting news for you Scott. I can imagine the excitement building as the minutes tick away.
  16. Great advise Jerry. Who made the pattern ? Would love to cut it !
  17. I don't dip my projects. I would think a clear shellac would work. It is fast to dry and mixed with denatured alcohol. I would try it on a few test pieces just be safe though.
  18. Here is a link to a site from a man named Helmut. Schwibbogen by Helmut May be worth a look for you.
  19. For me it is dictated by the pattern I am working on. Although I have yet to cut a pattern that was all cuts in one direction unless your cutting something very simple.
  20. Best advice I can offer is get the best your budget can afford. I worked my way up to an Ex and that was good for me. Dewalts seem to have a decent review so it a middle of the road. Craigslist is a good place to look for a used saw but be careful and now what to look for.
  21. Don What saw do you own ? If it is a Dewalt or Ex they have buttons that should turn when tightening. I re looked at the photo but these old tired eyes are having trouble seeing the position. Is it bent like a hockey stick ? If so I would definitely check to make sure the buttons are turning . Try cleaning them and lightly lubricating them. Hopefully this will help.
  22. If you look into the lower clamp you should be able to see the set screw sticking out a bit. Adjust it so that you can. I had this before and it is caused by the blade trying to bend into the hole. I also have my set screws set with Blue Thread Locker ( Loctite ) which helps keep then adjusted properly. I hope this makes sense and helps some.
  23. Something to keep an eye on for sure. Mine is still under warranty for about another year and 4 months. If this does prove to be real who would be selling them? Seyco has their own branded saw now.
  24. Never heard of either site. Will give them a try. Thanks for sharing guys.
  25. Glad to hear this Iggy. Happy your doing well.
