  1. I cut the little ducks from Steve Good. I finish them either mineral spirits or tung oil. Once dry both are food safe and pretty durable. As for coloring them, I would think any dye would work, I leave mine natural.
  2. There are pros and cons to every saw. I enjoy my EX-21 but have never experienced other top saws.
  3. I have been using the velcro wraps for my power tools. They attach to the cord so always ready and don't have to look for them. I do like this idea, looks like it would be easy to make too
  4. I always use sharp bits. This eliminates this issue. Just like scrolling, speed is a fator as well as being sharp. I have a drill Doctor to keep things sharp even helps on the ones that break.
  5. Very nice display and good job on the cutting.
  6. Bronx Here is the procedure straight from the manual for adjusting the upper arm 1) Removed the blade and with the upper arm down set the arm more or less parallel to the saw table 2) Loosen lock nut B 3) Turn the adjuster screw clockwise 1/4 of a turn at a time B until there is just enough resistance to hold the arm in the raised position. 4) Retighten the lock nut and check again to make sure the upper arm will now stay up when lifted. If not repeat these steps using 1/4 turn adjustments on the screw. NOTE: Do not over tighten the adjustment screw! Over tightening the adjustment screw will apply too much tension and prevent the free movement of the arm during operations causing damage to your saw. Hope this helps. This verbatim straight from the factory manual.
  7. Thanks for the great review. Nice that you were able to use their saw for so long to evaluate it.
  8. Frank Just pure awesomeness. Really like they way everything came out. Great Job.
  9. Martin Here is a lighted Angel Arch I do. It has battery operated LED light epoxied to the back of the front side. Hopefully this will help you.
  10. Thanks for the link. I'll check them out when I get a chance.
  11. Martin Can you give a better description of what your looking to do please. I have used LED lights in some of my projects for different effects. Some were plug in and some were battery operated. Just want to be sure of your goals and possibly I can help. Thanks.
  12. Kevin I went through something similar. I wrote Sue and all was restored. She keeps a record of prior sales and honors them. I will say Sheila does the same too. I now have back ups of everything to cover my butt. Try and let us know how you make out.
  13. Great job done here. Especially for your 6th try. As for the color, I don't care for it. Keep up the good work .
  14. Doing a chess set is on my bucket list. Love to play. Great reminder about tune up issues. Thanks for sharing
  15. Mine is the same way. Has not affected the performance or anything. I keep my top waxed. I think it is just extremely thin paint that wears off very quickly.
  16. I order where I get the best for value. I have a vendor that I deal with hands down but always look for a better pricing deal, don't forget to add shipping etc.
  17. As far as noise level goes, my EX-21 is quiet. There will always be some noise as the blades passes through the wood. I think that is extremely nice for them to have you stop by and try it out. Great customer service there.
  18. I make my own frames. I find it easier then trying to find something very thin. Another thought would be to cut both from 1/8" BB. I cut my dados and grooves to the depth I need then cover the backs with brown craft paper. That makes a huge difference to the customers. Just the way I do things.
  19. I use my Dremel for a lot of different things. Never for cleaning up fret work though. I would also think at high speeds the bit would want to burn the wood. I have used thin pieces of wood with sandpaper glued to them for cleaning up interior cuts that weren't just right or even just a piece of sandpaper cut into small strips. Not sure if this is what your looking for in an answer. A lot would depend on the thickness of the cutting, type of wood, etc.... Maybe a picture of what you are trying to accomplish would help more.
  20. I would probably do something like a permanent black marker on this one. Just remember to give it a good food safe finish, you know how little ones tend to want to taste or eat things .
  21. Looks like Russell is suggesting what is the answer.
  22. WOW. Didn't know about the merger. Great information though. PLEASE keep us up to date. It's a shame what is happening to the market anymore :(
  23. Had an issue with my EX-21 and Ray spent a lot of time on the phone with me. Sent the parts and all was good. Don't better then that
  24. JT let us know about the results. I have been using Klock-It but always looking for others places to work with.
  25. I have done this also. But you have to make sure you have waste area to accommodate the blade cutting. There are many ways to to accomplish this and all work depending on the cut / situation.
