  1. I'll check my archives. I have a few patterns of dragons.
  2. Should be a good back up saw. You would have to write the company to see if the motor can do variable speed and the necessary parts to convert it. A guy close to me did it and fried the motor running it slower then designed.
  3. Looks like you did good. You'll have many happy hours scrolling ahead of you.
  4. What an interesting subject. I'm fascinated to put it mildly. I have used these dyes but not for this purpose.
  5. Great job cutting it. I think Dan may be close with the blue pine. Some of the marking remind me of Ambrosia Maple but that is just the markings. Maple is pretty hard too.
  6. I use Flying Dutchman.
  7. Very nice indeed Jim. I would leave it as is also.
  8. We had a wedding in our family. I purchased a ton of "bubble bottles" for after the ceremony. The left overs were used up my grandkids. I cleaned them up and adopted them for blade storage, Made a holder and it keeps my blades organized for me.
  9. Do you have any of the big box stores close to you? They carry the 3M lines and a few others. I have no experience with Elmer's spray.
  10. Not familiar with the Eclipse. But quite a noble gesture on your part. Hats off to you.
  11. I ahve used the same place with great satisfaction. Decent prices and shipping.
  12. I have aking my saw for demonstrations and it worked out great for me. so I wish you the best of luck,
  13. Ron Glad to hear. Love my older ones and use them quite a bit. Keep them sharp and enjoy.
  14. I have framed 1/4" and 1/8" all with backer boards. Just measure the depth of "all" piece and make you dado's to fit. As for gluing the project together on a flat black backer then finishing. I finish the the cut project before I glue everything up. Be care with the backside, you don't want finish on it giving the glue a better surface to adhere to.
  15. I have the older ones. Love them. Suggest sharpening them and tue them up. Shouldn't take much from what I have read. Get them ready and you should be able to enjoy them for quite some time.
  16. I'm a flying dutchman cutter. I use blades of different sizes depending on the project at hand. I do like the Ultra Reverse blades. I have also heard some good things about Olsen and Pegasus blades. You will find that the more your play the more you learn and grow. This will lead to finding a blade that is good for you. Olsen put out a blade selection chart that is available and free on their site. Good information and a guideline to help learning by.
  17. I have this on mine. Like Kevin said the plastic film was a bit if a pain. I removed mine and setup a hose and collector to my shop vac.
  18. I've been scrolling for over 7 years but probably longer than that. I started out with a "cheap" saw and was hooked almost immediately. Started out doing simple things, like silhouette cut outs and gradually worked my way up to intracut patterns. Never took a lesson, but read a lot and watched YouTube videos to help me along. Joined a few sites and asked questions and got to meet a lot of great folks. I do other forms of woodworking but scrolling is one of my favorites.
  19. Welcome to the village Charles. What a great thing to receive. Set it up and play with it. Check out the forums here, and ask any question you may have. There is a wealth of information and experience here at the village to draw from. Ask questions and learn as you go. The best thing I think you can do it set it up. Play with it, then decide if scrolling is for you. You will get the opportunity to start out one one of the top saws.
  20. I have used these for wildlife scenes. They have a special look to them and sell well for me.
  21. Wonderful and touching story. Thanks for sharing Stu.
  22. Gimp does well on portraits type patterns. Inkscape is great for word art. All depends on what your looking for.
  23. Has worked well for me. And use it to this day. I will say get a better box fan, the cheaper ones don't hold up as well.
  24. Now that is a pretty piece of wood. No matter what it ends up as, it will be very interesting. Please keep all of us posted.
  25. I ran through this before. I wrote Seyco and waited for the response. Some of the older models no longer have parts available. I would suggest writing Ray and wait for the reply. It may take a day or two but well worth the wait.
