  1. Nice job Dave. As long as for personal use should not be an issue.
  2. Steve Good just wrote about this in his blog.Pictures look like it shares a lot in common with the EX . Don't seem to be a lot of info out about it.
  3. Dave Looks great. Can honestly say good job.
  4. If you don't try you could miss a good deal. Happy to hear it was close and not much time or gas wasted. Keep looking, something will show up good for you.
  5. Great job.
  6. Nice work. Really like the way the oak looks. Is there a bottom on the lid to keep it in place? Keep up the nice work.
  7. Nice looking fish. I really like them.
  8. Welcome to the Village and the world of scrolling. Like was mentioned if there is no bridge the piece will fall out. Be patient and have fun.
  9. I agree with the blade and a piece of hardwood. Run it through it's paces and look it over good. Variable speed etc. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
  10. Nice work there man. Just when you think you have most of it figured out someone comes along with another great idea. Never thought about doing stained glass with scrolling. What a very interesting way to do things. Thanks for sharing
  11. I enjoyed watching this. Scott Phillips is and his wife are entertaining and educational. Good show.
  12. I have seen videos of this on you tube. They cut out the artwork, then glue up the piece to be turned. I also remember the article Dan mentioned. They made a jig to scroll out the curved surfaces then glued then back together. It was a really beautiful ornament too.
  13. I'm wondering a clock like this. Would you just display and enjoy it? Or attempt to sell one? I have thought many times about doing one. I have done a few very intricate pieces but never for bragging rights. Love to see these and admire those that have been cut,I guess I'm wondering if it is worth the time and effort in general.
  14. Just read this on Facebook. Loved dealing with him. A great guy and loved by many. Surely set an example of how things should be. R.I.P. Mike.
  15. Looks like a great challenge. NC Scroller is right about the different thickness of the woods used. Keep us posted on how things progress or your decision.
  16. I use Titebond II and III. I use 3M77 to attach my patterns. Dealing with squeeze out, take a damp soft cloth put a little water on it and wipe up the extra glue. Once it sets light sanding and your done. I don't know of any glue that would work well on oiled pieces. I do furniture and pre finish some pieces with stain or dye but never top coats till it is assembled. Hope this helps some.
  17. If you can show the image, it would help, just as Len stated. Looking forward to seeing what your talking about too
  18. I very rarely use any type of wood filler. When I needed it I used water based but mixed in some dye or stain with it before applying. Mixing saw dust with glue even if you add the stain or dye then apply, seems to not accept the top finish the same as the rest of the work. Careful application and sanding helps a lot.
  19. I'll use pallet wood for temporary jigs and some shop storage stuff. I also know you can get some really nice wood out one. After seeing this, I must admit I have doing wrong for quite some time. Great idea for sure.
  20. I would use my Ex-21. Like stated above, 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick. When you say 30 inches around. Are you talking across the piece or around the outside ? Would love to see a photo when finished. Great offer for your donation.
  21. I use FD. I still shop at Mike's but it is now owned by WTB. Great service as always. Worth looking into and good prices.
  22. Congrats Denny. Something to be proud of.
  23. Great job man. I'm sure he will enjoy it when it comes in.
  24. Nice work indeed.
  25. Len I use WD Lockwood. And I use denatured alcohol to dilute them.
