  1. Congrats on the new saw. Thanks for the review. Enjoy making saw dust with it
  2. The blade would depend on the wood and the thickness of it. The blade speed would also be affected by this. Can you describe better what you are working with and trying to accomplish ? A photo may help also.
  3. Looks good. Love the dark wood, I can what you meant about showy, great job.
  4. I sign mine. Just my name and the year, Apply the final coat of finish over it.
  5. How exciting. Hope all works out for both of you. Please keep us posted.
  6. Jumped in late of this. Was thinking ebay but sounds like you got it worked out? Hopefully you did.
  7. Welcome back. Not fun when the computer goes down.
  8. Nice job. I have tried to stain it in the past with no great success. I would just finish as is. Looking good.
  9. Just jumped over there. No issues at all.
  10. Trying to start out on a "bad" saw will ruin the pleasures that await you. I'm guessing you have learned that much so far. So .. welcome to the village.Scrolling should be a pleasure and not a heart ache. Craigslist is a hgood place to find a decent used saw. Ask before you buy, many can give you feed back.
  11. I still have my spray equipment for before. Mostly DeVilBiss guns ( expensive ) and my compressor. Larry about summed it up pretty good. It is a lot of work to use then clean. Depending on what your spraying you'll have to adjust the gun or even change some parts inside. An air brush would be a simpler answer but they have a learning curve too. I still use my finishing gun for furniture but that is about all. My days of shooting cars is over.
  12. Seems plural is the choice of most of us.
  13. Tony Nice looking clock.I'm a top feeder and like it. Keep up the good work.
  14. meflick Thanks for the link. Interesting site.
  15. Paul just tried the link to check it out. Came up #404 page not found ?
  16. I think it comes down to project dependant. Some portraits I do with glass others I don't. Granted the glass protects against dust etc, but some look better exposed. I guess as we do our work, we decide on our personal preferance to the project at hand. Wish I could give a better answer but just being honest.
  17. Thanks Travis. Well stated and a great reminder.
  18. I like the current photo. Shows it being used.
  19. First I like your sign. I have been asked countless times what computer system I use to cut my stuff. It is then explained it all hand cut on a scroll saw. I have a sign for the back of my popup, 2ft x 4ft with just the name and a picture of one of the story crosses I do with a link to the fb page. Personally I prefer the hand cut over the hand crafted. With the saw on the sign it should be self explanatory. My thoughts only. I hand craft furniture but hand cut things on my scroll saw. I hope this makes sense. But it is all about the wording and the way people can understand it.
  20. Interesting offer Randy. I hope someone takes you up on it. This is the first scroll saw I seen with a miter gauge going by the photo on Amazon.
  21. We have some that require insurance. It's cheaper for the venue then for the year. The ones that require it my area are larger shows and in my experience worth it. I have insurance through my business but it is expensive.
  22. Great score. Wish I was as lucky !
  23. Nice display. Wishing you well !
  24. Seen some stuff of jazz cut from vinyl records. Can't remember where so a search would be in order. May help though.
