  1. What a sweet face. Love it. Thanks for posting.
  2. Somebody on another thread here also mentioned E6000. I checked it out at our local crafts store but haven't bought any as of yet. Now, I think I'll buy a tube and keep it on hand.
  3. Paul, there is going to be an election tomorrow in L.A. County. One item on the ballot only. And you can bet your bottom dollar that every education union member will be turning out to vote for it. It's a tax measure to increase property taxes within the county and supposedly all the money is going to give teachers pay raises and smaller classes and so on. It will never happen but the thing is, if you own a home within the area, your property taxes will go up a ton. For a 3000 sq. ft. home, they figure it will be an additional $500. Even patios and garages will be taxes on it. It's sickening what they are doing here. I have been wanting to leave ever since we came in off the road. But Barb said no. Now, after visiting with our friends yesterday, she is truly listening and thinking on it. They bought in a development, got a nice corner lot and have built a 1900 sq. ft. home with 3 car garage and a safe room in the center of the house. Very nice home for $250k plus the upgrades they are doing. Of course, they sold their $30k home here in Orange Co. for over $800k. So, they could have built anything they wanted to. Anyway, we could sell our mobile home for more than we paid for it and buy a home there, pay cash for it and sit back and relax with no crappy government like we have here. We are very close to pulling the trigger. We are going to fly back there in September and look around. More on this later. This is a pic of their home prior to finishing all the landscaping and concrete work.
  4. There have been tornadoes in Denver too.
  5. I, personally could live just about anywhere. It's satisfying my life partner. After 50 years of marriage, she demands some things HER way. LOL. We are now thinking about a move to be closer to our bestest friends who moved to Norman, Ok. They visited yesterday and have got us thinking very seriously. We'd be about $1200 a month ahead in our budget over living where we are. Right now, we own our home but have to pay lot rent of $1000 a month plus utilities. And since the park has been taken over by a management company, we know that the rent is going to keep going up every year until they get all the sites up to market prices. Right now, that would be about $1325 a month. For what our home is worth, we can own a sticks and bricks house there and not have the expenses we have now. Even with the high property taxes and homeowners insurance, we'd be waaay ahead. AND, gas is more than a $1 a gallon cheaper there. And, I love their politics way more than here.
  6. That's what I meant in my first suggestion. I can see, after reading the second suggestion, why it would not work. I'm glad you got it done though.
  7. Would it be possible to lightly spray the backer board and just enough to make it stick to the cutting and then tack it in some way? Just brainstorming here.
  8. Could you just use some spray adhesive just like you would a pattern? Spray the back side of your cutting, allow to set up and the place backer. If that isn't enough to hold, maybe shoot a couple of strategically placed brads. Of course, I don't know what your backer is or how thick, but that's just one suggestion.
  9. We almost pulled the trigger on moving to Florida but we came to our senses. I like the cost of living there but I don't think I'd ever get used to the hot humid summers.
  10. My thoughts exactly. But, knowing how much I LOVE sanding, I'd more than likely keep it and figure out how I could make use of it.
  11. Well, so far, no reply to my email inquiry. Probably gone. I'm not sure I even need this but I hate to let a good deal get by me.
  12. Re: Pegas blades, have you ever noticed them being a tad shorter than other brands? I was using my Hawk and was having a hard time getting the blade seated in the top clamp. Just for the sake of comparison I checked the blade against one of the blades that came with the saw. R-B blades are about 1/8" longer.
  13. I just found one similar to this but it has two flap wheels on the right side and it's only a 1 hp. motor. $125. Unfortunately, I don't have room for it. Dang! Oh heck, I just emailed the seller and if it's still available, I'm going to jump on it. If nothing else, I can resell it. After seeing what they sell for new, I can't pass it up.
  14. I've been thinking about making a small one myself. I don't have room for a full sized one.
  15. I have been wanting to get started on a jewelry box for a neighbor lady who needs something nice. She has been nursing her husband through his age related problems. Anyway, I found the plan in an old issue of SSWC magazine. I did all the cutting yesterday and today I will do the glue up and sanding. I have to get some black felt to line it with. The lid has a flower on it made of 4 different colored woods. The only wood I haven't found yet is sassafras. I might have to substitute something else. I'll post some pics when it's finished.
  16. That's the best part of our hobby. The shop is never finished.
  17. Me too Les. So far I've scored all my scroll saws, my Fein vac, my bandsaw, my portable table saw, and my miter saw. I've sold even more. I'm way ahead on C/L.
  18. Awesome buy! Congrats. The gods were shining on you.
  19. Hey @Graybeardstl, happy 82nd birthday. I hope you have many more. Keep on making that sawdust.

  20. The one my wife gave me is. If you get the chance, try visiting a Goodwill store or Salvation Army.
  21. Les, get hold of one of those cheap plastic cutting boards. It's like Teflon. You can machine it very easily and it slides like it's been greased.
  22. Are they pointed on one end for driving into the ground? If so, I think I know what you are referring to.
  23. Great idea. No need for another tool to take up space. I am curious though, what are "survey sticks"?
  24. No, it's not that bad here. But, I'll finish it someway to seal it.
  25. I'm not a fan of MDF as you stated. I made a cutoff sled and the screws are beginning to get loose. I'm going to make a new one out of a good grade of birch plywood.
