  1. I don't have one of their catalogs. I just followed the link that was posted at the top of this post. Not sure who posted it but when I went there I saw that price. I'll check out Klingspor's site. Thanks. This is the link I followed: Woodworkingshop.com and here is a pick of what I was talking about. R
  2. I have not found anything but the 6 inch one. Where did you find it? R
  3. I just ran across this one. Anybody ever tried one? They come in 3 different grits and are very reasonably priced. All 3 from Amazon for about $26.
  4. I can certainly see why it becomes a hassle to make your own but I still feel that $75 is a bit much for that first one. I guess they want to put some money in their pocket at least once. I'll have to give some thought as to how I can beat that price. There has to be a way. I still have my wholesale resale number so maybe I can buy wholesale. Who knows? Ray
  5. Thank you all for all your input. I think I have enough info now to make my decision. I'll probably end up at H/F and Amazon. R
  6. Aluminum would be my first guess. Just make sure you lubricate the blades so that the aluminum doesn't stick to them R
  7. Jay, I have no idea if that price is the best but I followed the link to them and the refills are in the $30 range but the starter kit is the posted price. I thought that was outrageous. If I decide to buy that set of buffs, I'll let you know how it works out. R
  8. Have any of you ever tried these. I'm thinking about ordering a set but thought I'd ask first.
  9. I just looked at this website and I see they get $72.95 for a started kit. I think I'll be making my own. That's a hefty price for an arbor and some sand paper. R
  10. Great idea. Thanks.
  11. I am thinking about doing just that. I already have an arbor but I'm trying to figure out how much it will cost me to buy a roll of emery cloth and do all the cutting. Sometimes, it's just not worth it. Thanks. R
  12. I looked up the wrong number. But what has been said is correct. Old saw, too much money. Wait for better.
  13. I'm curious about sanding mops. I keep seeing some of you folks referring to them. I did go out looking but only really found one source and size. Is that all there is? I was hoping to find something a bit smaller that what I'm seeing. Is $30 the going price? Any info appreciated. Ray
  14. Thanks, I just went there and ordered the 20# box of domestics. I also asked them if they would be kind enough to identify the wood because I'm ignorant to anything but pine and oak. I'll wait and see if they do. Not expecting it though. R
  15. I'm curious. How much was that load of wood? I like what I see there but at what cost? R
  16. I was just looking at Craigslist in the Phoenix area and there is a Hegner on there that is just like mine. It has the foot switch and the light. Seller is asking $1175. I wanted to email him and ask about his sanity but I thought better of it. He will find out soon enough. Unless he finds somebody with more money than brains. R
  17. Very nice. And clean too. Whahoo!
  18. That means it would fit the Dewalt too. Same exact thing. Not sure which one is the least expensive though since I haven't purchased either one. R
  19. Thanks Al. Did you see my post above? The two screws are interchangeable. I don't know how they compare price wise but if the Dewalt is cheaper, I'd buy a one of them and use the Dewalt tips. I honestly didn't try putting the Quick clamp tip into the Dewalt screw but that might work too. Lot's of ways to go here. R
  20. Ok, here is what I just found out. I have the Quick clamp on my Hegner so I was able to cross check the two screws from the Dewalt. The threads are the same which would allow for someone to put the Dewalt clamp screw into the Hegner instead of the Quick clamp. The tips appear to be the same but I'm not sure they would interchange. The Dewalt uses a rubber o-ring as the holding device to keep the tip in. The Quick clamp uses a plastic sleeve. I tried to put the Dewalt tip into the Quick clamp and it fits but when you try to push the o-ring into the hole, it binds. It could probably be forced but I didn't want to do that. So, I hope this is understandable. If anybody has questions, just ask me. R
  21. I have both of these saws. I'll have to take a look. Report back coming. R
  22. Then use a bigger drill. Ha!
  23. Me too.
  24. I think all the blade makers should do this. Sure would make life easier. Especially when working with these tiny little blades. I did find that if I use a pencil magnet to hold the blade on it's flat side it is much easier to work with when installing in the saw. Once it's in and you only unclamp one end, then no problem but when installing it the first time under the table, it's far easier to hold it with the magnet. R
