    It's nice to be able to "feel" the love isn't it? I get the same feeling here on this forum. I have belonged to many forums that had to do with all my varied interests over the years but there were always a handful of folks who seemed to just hang out to make trouble. Not so here. My hat is off to Travis for overseeing this site and keeping it under control. We are truly a "family" here and I know that if I was in need of help, there might just be folks who are close enough to me that they would help me out. Luckily at this point, I don't need anything other than the help and advice that I have found here so far. Ray

    I played around a bit with the foot switch. I took it apart and cleaned it up as best as I could. The actual switch is a sealed unit so I can't do much with that. I found that if I start the saw at 1400 or above, it does the slow start and then goes along without anymore hesitation. It's the lower speeds where it slow starts and then sort of does a hiccup after a second or two. From that point on, it's clear sailing. I guess I just won't worry about it but it is bothersome since I'm still learning at slower speeds. I do love this saw though. Ray

    I haven't done any stack cutting yet but I think I like the air nailed brads the best. They sound like they would not have any chance of slippage. Ray

    So far, I sit at my Dewalt and stand at my Hegner. I may end up putting the Heg down low so I can sit in the same chair for both. My chair is a cast off office chair that I brought home and cleaned up. It just fits both my shop and my butt. Ray

    Well, I tried to view all of them and the first one was the only one that I could see at all. The others were not "seeable". Ray

    Iggy, when I go to that link, the puzzles are very hard to see. They are very faded out and only one really was viewable. Ray

    Sort of like trying to get an answer to a question from the I.R.S. They will each give you a different answer because, like the Bible, they each interpret the tax code differently. Ray

    Paul, what do you know about the difference in operation? I see these older ones run the lower arm and the new one run both upper and lower arms. I would think that old design would make for more vibration like the older Deltas. Ray

    Probably not a bad deal but the overall design has to be different so it might not be as vibration free. You might want to wait for the more learned folks to chime in. I am trying to find some info on the different models and model years. I have seen a few of the older types for sale but they don't seem to sell. Ray

    I don't know much about the older models of Excalibur but this one is old. I think the ones with the motor mounted up high in the back would be the ones to go after. But, like I said, I don't know all that much. Ray

    I just look for deals too good to pass up. At some point, I'll have to sell something. I still would like a Hawk and an Ex-21. Then I can really see the difference. Not that I ever cut much. Someday, I'm going to get away from the computer and go out to my shop. Someday. Ray
