    I don't have any blades above 7 and I've never had a need for them. Pegas 5 mgt are my go-to blades. I don't do much fretwork.

    @kmmcraftsrebuilt his Ex and added the Pegas chucks but I think when he did it he put actual Excalibur parts back in his saw instead of the Chinese parts. He might be able to shine some light on your dilemma though. Let's see if he chimes in soon.

    I found a lot to choose from online. The big difference seemed to be with or no storage tank. About $80-$100.

    I've noticed with my latest batch of Pegas mgt #5 blades that they now have drift. The first gross seemed to cut straight. That is what impressed me. I fought with FD blades as they had a lot of drift. The Pegas that I'm using now have a noticeable drift. Not a lot but some.

    I purchased the refill packs from Klingspor is 3 grits. I also purchase the Ryobi mandrels from H/D for under $6 ea. I use 180, 220, 320 grits in my hand drill. But, .....nothing takes the place of hand sanding in certain areas of a project. For an example, here is a candle holder that I make. They are in 3 sizes. Made up of a base, a bottom holder and a top holder and 8 sides pieces. I hand sand each of these pieces either by hand or on a piece of Corian tile with a full sheet of paper. Once all assembled, I use my mops to sand prior to finishing. I'm not a "high-gloss" finisher. No talent in that area but most everything gets dipped in my vat of Watco oil. After drip-drying, I wipe it all off with a rag and let it sit for about 4 days. Then maybe a light sanding with 400 paper and another dip. After a week of drying, then either a coat or two of Zinnser's spray shellac or lately I've used Johnson's paste wax for a nice warm finish.

    My compressor is a 2.5 gallon and it lasts for about of minute to minute and a half of constant on trigger of the set you bought. That's with the regulator set at about 25 psi. The actual pump will almost keep up with it once it comes on. But most air brushing is done in small bursts so mine seems to work ok. I suppose you could buy one of those small air tanks that is used for airing tires and incorporate it into your system to give you more capacity but I don't really see the need.

    Paul, watch some youtube videos. The guy that did the one about the H/F $10 air brush has got a ton of them. Myself, I ordered the $40 set that he recommended and I'm going to use my 2.5 gal compressor until I feel that I need something else. I'm still waiting on my a.b. set. Should be here tomorrow. I have a feeling it will do everything I want it to do. I'm not an artist either but who knows what may come of this idea? Edit: Paul, here is a link to a video, not sure if I already posted this, but this is the kit that I will receive today. I got notified that it will be here for sure today. I don't see how you can go wrong on this one. Watch the video about it. Also, this guy has a ton of great info on lots of other stuff.

    Charley, in trying to picture your clamps are you saying that the plywood edges go up & down and 1" sides go east & west? When looking down you see the plies?

    My first scroll saw was basically nothing more than a big transformer that created a vibration and the blade was stretched between 2 points on spring arm. Absolutely useless. And to think I traded a Benjamin pellet pistol for it. The worst deal I ever made.

    It all depends on the project. I don't do much flat work but when I do, I pre-sand prior to cutting. That eliminates most of the sanding later. What I make are projects that are made of pieces that require sanding after the cutting. So, I do a lot of sanding both by hand and with my Dremel 6300 sander. It's the one that has cutting blades and a sanding pad. I found a place to buy boxes of the velcro sanding paper so I use it a lot. My latest projects have been candle holders made up of top, bottom and 8 sides and it takes me a solid day to get them all sanded to my liking. I stop at 220 in most cases but sometimes I'll go to 400.

    Well, it's a pretty simple mechanism so maybe you can find the leak and fix it. Or can they order one in from the warehouse? I'd give customer service a call. I have done that before and they worked with me for parts on a compressor that I had. I'm speaking of the main customer service number, not the local store. Go online and look it up.

    I purchased a better hose for mine and also a bag of fittings from Amazon so that I could hook it all up to my compressor. I also have a quick connect fitting at the spray gun. So far, if I have the compressor regulator set at 30 p.s.i. it holds the air with no leaks. I also used teflon tape at all the connections. The sprayer itself has no leakage. If I were you, I'd take it back and exchange it. As for the $40 set, I am still waiting for it. The first one got cancelled as they damaged it in the process of packaging it for shipping and it was the last one in stock. They refunded my money and put it on back order. Now, I am waiting and it is supposed to show up today, tomorrow or Monday. Time will tell. I may not get around to testing it right away as I'm in the middle of a couple of projects and I just don't have room for everything at one time. I also bought a fold-up spray booth from Wagner. It's pretty cool.
