  1. Maybe a "sticky header" on the Introduction page by Travis would help.
  2. My biggest problem. I am my worst enemy. I HATE the finishing process due to my ignorance.
  3. I think part of the problem is the cost of the venues. The show promoters got greedy too. And then along came Amazon. I've heard about a few get togethers out in farmer's fields. They would be fun.
  4. Wow! I had no idea you were going through that. I hope it continues to go well. At our advanced ages, surgery is no walk in the park. I'm toying with the idea of knee surgery for an old motorcycle injury about 60 years ago. I was told it would give me problems later in life and sure enough, it is. Should be just arthroscopic though. Follow doctors orders and do your rehab as they tell you to. You'll be up and around in no time. Prayers for you though.
  5. None in So Cal that I'm aware of. Sad!
  6. Great job Charley. I guess I'll have to hunt up the movie. We went and saw it when it was in the theater. Not since.
  7. Beautiful. Great job & well done.
  8. Steve Good posted a link today to Stencilfy. It is an App that will take a regular font and turn it into a scrollable font with bridges where needed. I know this subject had just recently come up by one of our member so I thought this would be of help. I went to the App site and bookmarked it on my Roboform Bookmark list. Clink on this link to to take you to the App. Thanks to Steve Good! https://blogspot.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fa6b059408ca051b3a85dce6b&id=41aee3cf07&e=e151848253
  9. I placed an order for a gross of blades Friday 12/2. Received them today 12/4. Tennessee to So Cal. Darned quick. And, because me last order with Denny was a set of Pegas clamps, I rec'd 6 dozen blades for free. Best service ever. Thanks Denny & crew.
  10. I used the ROS paper and it works fine.
  11. Agree 100%.
  12. Beautiful box. Great job.
  13. I had mine out twice. Once when I was four and then again at 16. They did a lousy job the first time.
  14. Thanks for your input. But, I don't make toys. I'm doing the earrings mostly just to satisfy my curiosity and the "reindeer king" here on the Village is @CharleyL . He uses hard maple for it's durability so I'm following his advice. I must say, I'm a little leery of cutting it. I have worked a bit with hickory and got through it ok. We will see. Right now I'm trying to wrap my head around the mechanical parts and how to go about installing them.
  15. Hi 60's low 70's in So Cal. I actually turned my little heater on in my shop yesterday. I guess I'll have to put on long pants soon. Sad!
  16. It has the black knob at the rear.
  17. I'd have to take it just to tinker with it. Resurrecting old machinery interests me.
  18. I've been busy with many things not hobby related. But also when time permits working on Christmas gifts. I also decided to give the 3-D reindeer earrings a try so I've been chatting with @CharleyL about how he does it. Here are my first two attempts out of mahogany. Gonna buy some hard maple today if I can find some.
  19. Thanks for that info. As usual, I was looking at it from the standpoint of doing it the hard way. Maybe that's my problem. I do everything the hard way. Thanks again.
  20. I love what you have done. Beautiful work. I would love to try one but I can't seem to cut anything square on 4 sides with regularity. I have a fairly well-tuned Dewalt jobsite saw but I'm always off by a tiny bit. Can you offer any advice on how you make all those squares for the boards?
  21. I was going to suggest one of those segmented belts that they sell to replace most any v-belt. They are pricey but last forever. And a day. All you need is a dimension. I know Harbor Freight sells them and also Woodcraft. Probably Rockler too. Do a search on Amazon. I'll bet you could use one in place of the round belt that you have used.
  22. It's windy down here in Orange County but so far everything is still up and running. We just finished our TG dinner. There are leftovers if you are interested.
  23. The topic line says it all!
  24. Mark, you need a hobby. Lol. Happy Thanksgiving
  25. What are the dimensions of the work area? Not the "closet" area, just the workroom?. I like your ideas and may have to incorporate some of them. My shop is 9 x 13 with an 8ft workbench that may have to move outside. I really like your shop and it doesn't appear to be that much bigger than mine. Thanks for posting
