  1. @BadBob, what compressor are you using. Thanks for your comment on the air brush itself. I've been watching one particular guy do lots of testing on many different brushes of all price ranges and so far, he is impressed with many of the "cheaper" ones. Harbor Freight is one of them that he was impressed with.
  2. Love it!
  3. I'm leaning toward this one because of price and after viewing a few videos on youtube. It comes with 3 air brushes which may or may not be of any quality but for what little I'll use it, at least at first, I think it will fill the bill. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M72W5OV/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A10PRH2DFOVNA8&psc=1
  4. Brand/model number/price?
  5. Once again the search function let me down. I know someone recently posted a reply to a thread and mentioned wanting to buy an air brush. I've lost sight of who posted it so I'm opening a whole new thread for anybody who knows anything about air brushes can offer up their expertise/experience with them. I'm toying with buying one and I just purchased the H/F $10 set of bottles that come with a spray attachment. I've jumped in and have been watching a ton of videos on the subject and what I have found is I still don't know what I want. So, if anybody can offer their own personal choice as to the air brush itself and also what compressor you are using it with. Thanks in advance for any info that is added.
  6. Gonna need more info on this request. Maybe a pic or two of what you are working on.
  7. Painted!
  8. Great job Dave. It should be greatly appreciated.
  9. Welcome back. I hope you can get back into the hobby and find your "happy" once again. I lost my oldest son to depression so I can sort of understand what you have been going through. Remember, you have friends here on The Village who are always ready to help and to just talk to.
  10. Very nice! I might have to buy that pattern.
  11. It's a fairly common thing with those saws. If you are at all mechanically inclined it won't take more than an hour to fix it. There are videos on youtube that tell all you need to know to do total maintenance on the 788. If you are anywhere close by I'll help.
  12. Read the topic heading.
  13. Welcome Charles. A wealth of knowledge on most every scroll saw subject here on the Village. I'm not understanding what your problem is. Maybe a bit more explanation and/or pics if possible. I have 2 Ex's and a Hegner. After re-reading your post I'm thinking of 2 possibilites. First being that with that thickness of wood and depending on the hardness, you may be forcing the cut. Pushing too hard and not letting the blade do its job. Which brings me to the second thing. Maybe the wrong blades. When I did a 3-D cut on some 1 1/2" douglas fir, I had problems until I switched to Pegas double skip blades that were able to clear the sawdust out of the kerf better. I bought them from Artcraftersonline.com. Denny Knappen is on the Village and owns the site. Check with him.
  14. Thanks Melanie, I truly learned something today. I never knew either of those were available.
  15. @don watson, there are lots of youtube videos that might be of help. I have made one nameplate that had my name on one side and my wife's on the other. Nothing too difficult about it. Just make sure you have the center line absolutely centered on the edge of your block and that your block is a true 90 degrees on all sides.
  16. I've never been able to make the search function work for me. I will be following this thread in hopes that someone can enlighten both of us.
  17. Well done!
  18. Just be careful as you are not covered once they warned you.
  19. Beatutiful job Dick. I'll bet he appreciated it very much. Nice to have friends like you.
  20. That's a beauty for sure. Great job of hiding the drill lines.
  21. Edison never made a mistake. He just found 10,000 ways that didn't work.
  22. Congrats on your WIN!
  23. A lot of folks I've read use the cheapie one from Harbor Freight. This one. https://www.harborfreight.com/quick-change-airbrush-kit-93506.html Evidently the learning curve is much easier with it. Not as many adjustments to make.
