  1. Looking at your select and displays it is not wonder. Congratulations!!!!
  2. I have not taken a hard poll but I have talked to people. In my part of the world many people, myself included do not make a habit of carrying cash. So many people carry airline miles and other rewards cards that people now everything on CC even that $1.00 cup of coffee at Mc Donald's. It is the way many if not most people show these days. My experience and records show the people who pay with CC make generally larger purchases. Yes I do take checks. But if you really want to maximize your selling you have to make it as easy as possible for people to buy. For this sales yesterday my CC fees were all of $15. Well worth it in my book.
  3. I did a show yesterday and had a totally opposite experience. I have done this same show for 8 straight years and my sales have increased every year. This year's sales were 10% higher then last year. One of the organizers told me the estimated number of attendees was between 1,000 and 1,100. They came to buy. I do not want to brag but my booth fee was $40.00 and I grossed almost 40 time that plus I have orders to fill that will pay on delivery. I use a Square so I can take credit cards and that has helped a lot. Over a 1/3 of my sales were credit card sales. Top sellers were nativity puzzles, gift card holders(based on a Steve Good design), letter angles (Sue Mey design), and bird house ornaments.
  4. RIP John. We lost a great scroller and friend.
  5. I have purchased the last two e-Books and they were wonderful. Count me in as a buyer again. One of these years I will have the time and skills to contribute as a designer.
  6. Thanks for the explanation. I think you are stuck with either tracing or photo copy. Please keep us posted on the progress. BTW I went to college across the lake from you but that was many many year ago.
  7. But ONLY if you purchased or legally obtained the original pattern in the first place.
  8. Sorry but if I read this correctly what you are attempting to do and asking us to help you with is both illegal and unethical. If I miss read your question then please ignore this. If you found a finished project that you also want to cut you need to find out who designed in and obtain (purchase) a copy of the pattern from them or their legal representative. It violates copyright laws to make unauthorized copies of the pattern even if it is just for personal use. If you don't know who designed it you should post a picture of the project here and maybe someone can help you find the designer.
  9. Welcome home.
  10. Mine started to slip no matter how I adjusted it and I had a small split starting on the seam.
  11. Several years ago I bought a rubber feed belt from them for my 16-32. Recall it was a bit pricey but well worth it.
  12. Welcome from NC. I grew up in Poughkeepsie. Also lived in Hyde Park and LaGrange. Where abouts are you?
  13. Yes you could edge glue a couple 2 x 6's or 2 x 4's if you had to but 2X lumber is fairly cheap so the effort to joint and glue the lumber would not really be worth it to me.
  14. Out two weeks ago for subscribers. I think it is roughly a month later it will be on the newsstands.
  15. There are two great children nativity puzzles by Paul Meisel in the Winter 2017 issue of Scrollsaw Woodworking. The magazine called for using 2 x 12. I did not have a 2 x 12 but had access to some 2 x 10. Anyway if you copy the patterns at 97% it reduces it enough (roughly 1/4") to just fit on a 2 x 10. BTW I checked at my local Lowes and the shortest 2 x 12's they sold were 10'. The shortest 2 x 10's they had are 8'. Figure each puzzle will take a linear foot of wood.
  16. Great job. One suggestion is to make sure you bring plenty of change. Most people stop at a cash machine and have $20 bills. That is great if all your items cost $20 but if all of your items are in what I call even dollars ($5, $10, $20, $25,....) bring at least a $100 in $5's and $50 in $10's. If you have items in $1's ($3, $6, $22,....) bring at least $25 in $1's. I typically bring a $200 to start with.
  17. I have only missed two shows since they started hold these. I hope to be there doing demos in the NC Woodworkers booth.
  18. Scott according to their website the WoodCraft store in Raleigh, just off of Glenwood Road has the King saw in site. It is a Excalibur clone. Like you I was a fan of the Dewalt. Had two of them but once I tried the EX I would not go back. If we can ever get our schedules in line you are welcome to come up and try my EX-21.
  19. I am half way between you and Norfolk. I have friends and neighbors who go there fairly regularly.
  20. Ray, not sure how old this list is but it might give you some leads. http://scrollsawer.com/clubs/wpbdp_category/scroll-saw/
  21. Another hot glue user here.
  22. The issue is the hole size in the table. Because of how close together your letters are you have delicate areas being unsupported while cutting. This is what is causing the tear out. There are a couple options to help prevent it. First use a backer board such as 1/8 Baltic Birch. The other way is cover up most of the table hole. I do that with a piece of aluminum flashing.
  23. There is a Dewalt service shop in Raleigh NC. They repair Delta as well. But there's one closer to you in Greensboro. DeWalt / Delta | Porter-Cable Factory Service #0713402 West Wendover Avenue Greensboro, NC 27407 USATelephone: 336-852-1300 Approximate distance: 8.3 miles
  24. Ron all I can say is WOW....
  25. I have seen several demonstrations. They cut pieces of very very thin veneer. The demos I saw did all their cutting with a razor blade or exacto knife. Even a scrollsaw with a 2/0 blade is too aggressive. It is kinda like intarsia but 2 dimensional (no shaping and sanding).
