  1. I know that there is a Men's Shed in Winnipeg.
  2. Beautiful piece. Well done!
  3. I too use an old fridge magnet "business" card
  4. We have a big boat (33ft cabin cruiser) that we have on Lake of the Woods, Ontario. Love going to the various islands to anchor overnight, always a different view. I have turned a few of these into puzzles.
  5. I bought this - http://stockroomsupply.ca/shop/drum-sanders.html - with money from a craft sale. Don't use it as much as I thought I might. Watched a video on using it as a jointer, but I didn't have much sucess at that.
  6. I have one on each side.
  7. Here is what I finally did with my tree puzzle. Used craft paint and sponged it on. Did one side in summer colours and the other side in autumn colours. Thanks to my sister for the suggestion.
  8. Frank, I have cut without the spray laquer and it's okay. Laquer is better. I finnished the back of the puzzle first with tung oil, then glued the photo to the unfinished side. There is a video on the Gwinnett site. Can't remember the guy's name but the cuts with the photo on the table side. The trick is to turn the blade upside down. Steve Good has pattern templets available and a pattern book for sale.
  9. Who was your father-in-law?
  10. From the same day as trying my hand at sign making. Plywood on cedar. MG#3 blade. Just have to put the finish on it. Planing to use spar finish.
  11. After I changed the blade clamps, I had other issues and ultimately DeWalt replaced the whole saw. Started the new year with a brand new saw. Not taking it apart anytime soon. I will eventually replace the blade clamps with the Pegas clamps I have.
  12. In the blade holder, yes. I had posted a video late last year about it. The Pegas clamps come with their own bearings/sleeves.
  13. I have a list of all the bearings required that someone here (I think) passed on to me. I would have to find it & scan it again if you would like me to send it to you.
  14. Bearings in Canada are not cheap! I went looking last year for the bearings in the blade holder. Bought the Pegas clamps instead because it was only a few dollars more than all the replacement bearings.
  15. The font for the numbers is called Flubby, can't remember the font for Fleet, and couldn't seem to see it on Inkscape. The wood was just a chunk out of the old garage. I have no idea what it is. Wasn't too bad for cutting. I was originally going for the numbers in the word but didn't like the look of that so I just moved up the numbers. Didn't look very good without the backer. The dark green is the same colour is as the trim on the house. Having the surgery meant I couldn't go to work for a few days. That allowed me to spend time playing around with Inkscape!
  16. New sign for our new garage. First attempt at pattern making. First cut after cataract surgery. Was good to be in the shop again.
  17. There is a member of the Gwinette club that glues the photo to the wood, sprays with a finish (don't remember what)) then glues the pattern to the back of the wood. Cuts with the photo on the table side. The key to having it work is to turn the blade upside down. I have been stack cutting two at a time, but having issues with the piece of paper, that I sandwich between the photos, sticking to one side or the other. I think that as I cut the glue warms up and seeps out a bit so it sticks to the paper. It does rub off with a damp cloth but that can get very time consuming.
  18. These are photos, that I have taken, and turned into puzzles. They are from Lake of the Woods, ON. We have a large cruiser boat that we can go exploring the lake with. Thsi past weekend we saw moose swimming across from one island to another, two large turtles, a buck, and watched a beaver grooming itself on a rock.
  19. I actually made this for my brother, for his 60th birthday. It is a picture of my parents boat that he inherited after dad passed 13 years ago. Dad would have enjoyed it as well.
  20. Don't over think it - it looks great|! We are always our own worst critic which is too bad.
  21. They haven't actually received them yet, but I am sure they will roll their eyes!!!
  22. Normally I would be getting a gift from my daughters, but when I saw this, I thought I would give them a gift....lol
  23. Yes they feed babies, but the trend is to feed them actual food!!! My grandson eats what ever we cook. No "baby" food.
  24. I think I have posted these here before, but they are some of the most recent ones I have cut.
  25. Amazing work. WOW!! Curious, where did you use the spiral blades????
