I like to see other people's toys. Neat little helicopter!

I sometimes put the clear tape( packing tape from Dollar Tree--Harbor Freight-etc.) over my wood piece then; use my template/pattern and go around it with a fine-point red marker. Red is easy for me to see against the blade and I get to re-use the pattern! If you miss by 1/16th it basically won't show on the finished project. NO BODY does absolutely perfect work all the time! Do NOT worry about it. My wood stove used to get a lot of my "projects". Remember to do it for fun! The only person who has to really like your stuff is YOU!

Ron summed it up! US addicts all like company--sanity not required (Shh don't tell them--I think if you are too sane they throw you out!--I have nothing to worry about on that though!" It is a great group and some of the others do some marvelous work. I just have the oldest working saw! a 1952; I do not use it much-- it is very limited on thickness capacity-- but, it still works. To top that I am the original owner.

They are nice! Both are excellent. Try a few out of frame colors behind them and see which you like; then just set in frame and look again before doing the final. assembly. I think the sky blue Ron suggested is a good one to try.

Steam Fever is a terminal illness! Neat job. Anyone wanting to see pictures etc. go to http://www.rollag.com/ They have a marvelous steam/antique/vintage show every labor day weekend! I do have some pictures that I took so they will have no copy write if someone wants something specific, I might have a picture of it.

AND THEN! Great Project! A few words for a RANT PLEASE! Hell, they can NOT READ--- They think guns are BAD--we are all great people--just those nasty guns-- DAMNED IDIOTS People KILL people! They were doing it before guns and will continue even if the idiots get all guns banned!

Made from no patterns and mostly pallet wood. The only "New" (purchased) wood are the axels of the units. It does have one bolt in the wagon for the steering. The wagon was much harder to make than the tractor was. My total material cost is about $2 for all material; no allowance for "shop costs" though. Probably $5 with that. The air cleaner base on the tractor is a wine cork! --- Just had to do that! I have sort of templates made for the tractor-- wagon is still being developed. Hope next one is easier.

I was trying to figure the shape's meaning. It came to me that it is the shape of your state?? I really like the wood-burned effect and use it on many things. This bunch OPENLY STEALS IDEAS from everyone! Great Idea-- I am sure some will be "borrowing" that one.

A big HI from the west side of Oregon. AMAZING K just summed it up! I actually use my saw flat and have a Salvation army special for a stool. A bar height with a back rest and swivels; WITH NO casters! They can have you move at the wrong time. It is a good saw; a DeWalt 788-. I did add extra light and a shelf between the saw and the factory stand! Start with smple things first.. A cut into the waste area mistake is easier to fix than into the project. The tip about using clear packing tape over your projects work well. I put my pattern onto the tape. (I use a fine point RED permanent marker & make templates if I plan on a repeat). .Easier to get rid of slight error that way that shows, but, does not matter. Just remove the tape and only you know there ever was a mistake! Make things to please you! If they do NOT like it --TOO BAD!--just so you DO! Make a comfortable work station that fits what you need! Not like anyone else's just for you!

I forgot to mention one very important aspect of this. Mount it where it is in YOUR comfort zone to work!. I have the jet hooked into the mediocre shop vacuum system and then use the long hose on my small vacuum if I am doing any serious sanding. I use a long plastic tube to extend the hose and keep it in place. (I think it is an old golf bag tube, not sure) I heated the end and made it to slip on and off my hose end. It slips in between the plate grinder angle adjustment and the main body and stays well. Helps control more of the dust--. I use mine vertically by far the most! I di my old junk one also. Try that; It may or may not work for you, but, does for me.

Greetings Earthling! The one thing not REQUIRED is "Normal"-- they are just no FUN! Seriously; the people above pretty much covered it. I have made sawdust with a scrollsaw for 60 years and still learn something new all the time. Ask--Answer-- we are all a team with truly friendly competition! Love to see each other 's great projects. I do like to see some of the unusual and your OWN designs! Hey; If they are really neat--- I sometimes (borrow)-- and get ideas of my own from them.

They pretty much summed it up. It won't take long to get $50 use out of it! I would find a way to make a decent fence that I can angle set solid etc. Could even be made of a good hardwood piece. G-H-F has good belts at a reasonable price. I had a throw-away small sander like that for years. I had made the shaft bushings from automotive starter bushings with a drill bit and emery cloth to get the right size. It will make you realize what a valuable tool a belt sander is. I have even used mine to grind an edge off tile! The belt sander I have now is a Jet and was not cheap; but is still single speed; H-F sells speed controls that work and are reasonable.

Very Nice! Maybe paint on this one. Idea below for the next box-- much easier to do when you can lay the piece flat and anchored/clamped/double-sided taped to something etc. Just use a pencil and sketch the inside of the ears and the eyes out on some scrap--- use you Dremel and --try to just get some practice a little then use the same idea on the next box! Really want to see more of these--Super Idea. I think all little kids to 90+ will love these. A walnut one would be so neat.

Nice. Neat--- I wonder what the saw is! A tiny piece of 3/8 dowel about 5/8 inch long painted black would put the motor on it.

For what Dick suggests; I just use a crap of hardwood --grooved to fit and it works well. Mine is a hickory flooring scrap. I do like both projects--neat--good work! I also use a clamp to hold the blade almost in positron while I do the adjusting to the blade clamps. I actually use my thumb and pull down the upper arm slightly as I tighten the clamps. A cheap long nosed plastic thing. Works great. I had been using a needle nose plier-- this frees both hands. . The background for the woodpecker should be a thin slice of tree. Preferably; if you can manage it a thin slice of bark and the squiggle the edges. Rough dark bark will add effect.
