  1. Thanks Ron. Merry Christmas to you and your family and to every one at the Village!
  2. Great work Brian! They both look great. I think the key for the ladder looks a little fragile, especially for kids, although I love the ladder. For production sake, I would go with the Dalmatian puppy.
  3. That looks great Rob, nice job!
  4. Great pattern and excellent cutting!

  14. What you are referring to is called veining. Don above gave you a good source for a mini collet that will hold small drill bits. They also sell mini drill bits to fit different sizes of blades. Another source for mini collets and drill bits is http://www.sloanswoodshop.com The mini collets allow you to use mini drill bits in your drill press. Drill the hole at an intersection of two veins and the hole will virtually disappear.
  15. Looking forward to you review Jim!
  16. Hey Daniel, welcome to the Village! I'm Dan from Moorpark in Ventura Co. Lots of great folks here ready to help, so come on in and join the fun!
  17. I'm not Larry, but I'll answer anyway. I have cut hundreds of compound projects and find a holding jig indispensable. It gives you more control because you have more to hold on too. Also because the jig keeps the cuts together, you don't have to take the time to tape it back together to cut the second side. I wouldn't be without them (I have several sizes).Larry, you did a great job on yours!
  18. I don't measure blade life in terms of time or distance. I change blades when the blade no longer cuts the way I want it to. It might last an hour, or it might last ten minutes.
  19. I'm curious, what do you mean by no mail service?
  20. Like you, I used to use screws, but for years have been using glue only. Have never had a failure.
  21. Those are great Larry!
  22. Ok, October of what year?!?! That is some excellent work!!
  23. Great work Keith, nice design and excellent cutting! As far as the customer is always right.....only if you agree with him!
  24. Hey Ward, here's how I do it, whether it's right or not, it works for me. For intersecting word plaques, I usually paint the surface of the backer board flat black with spray paint, but stain would be fine. Flat black dries fast, I can usually apply two coats in an afternoon. By the next day the paint is dry enough to glue to the plaque. I use Aleen's Tacky Glue. This glue just about glues anything to anything! Before you start, get some toothpicks ready. Apply the glue to the back of the plaque. Make sure you have even coverage around the edges, but be careful around the letters. Clamp the two pieces together with plenty of clamps. Clean up any squeeze out in the letters with the tooth picks. Let this dry for a couple of hours, then you can cut the perimeter. Since I use flat black for the backer, applying an oil finish and topcoat won't make the backer to shiny. You can find Aleen's Tacky Glue at any hobby store and Michael's craft store.
  25. I know how you feel Larry, been there, done that, have the tee shirt😢
