  1. Yup, beautiful work! I could sell that for $35 at most of the shows I do. I do not base price on time I have in a piece. I base my prices on what I think it would sell for. I was setting out items at a show one time when I thought this item was priced to low. I raised the price by about 20%. I sold all 4 that I had. I hadn't sold any at the lower price. So, don't under sell yourself!
  2. Hey Don, those are great!
  3. Congratulations Dave! It should serve you well! The DeWalt saw was designed for top feeding. That is feeding the blade through the top of the blank when doing inside cuts. If you learn to top feed, an arm lift is not needed. I started scroll sawing on a 16" saw that was very tedious to change from one hole to the next. When the DeWalt saws came out, I had to have one. For me, top feeding came very natural. When the arm lifts became available, I had to have one. After a few weeks, I realized it was just in the way so I took it off. If you learn to top feed, you don't need an arm lift,
  4. Great work Marg!!!
  5. That is amazing work!
  6. Great work! Thanks for sharing!
  7. I don't use the blue painters tape. I hate having to scrape off all the little pieces of tape between frets. I use the 3M 77 spray adhesive. Spray on the back of the pattern, let set for about 30 seconds, then apply to the bare wood. If I'm concerned about burning, I'll apply a layer of clear packing tape on top of the pattern. After cutting, I spritz on some mineral spirits from a spray bottle. The pattern will come right off in about ten seconds. Wipe off the MS with a clean, soft cloth or paper towel, then your ready to sand.
  8. I cut Christmas ornaments from thin hardwood scraps. If they are not big enough for ornaments, they get tossed.
  9. I think Dick means Woodcraft.
  10. Looks good Dan! You might consider painting the indents to see them easier.
  11. Great work Paul, hope you get your saw problem sorted out!
  12. That's some nice work Dan!
  13. Don't know for sure, but looks like an old Sears saw.
  14. It seems that now that the Excaliburs's are becoming more popular, the bugs are all surfacing more often.. Remember when DeWalt saws went through this? Just remember, both saws are made in Taiwan!

    Puzzles

Great work Dan! That is sure to please!
  16. Excellent project Dave, you are doing great work!
  17. The most important factor when cutting jigsaw puzzles is the width of the kerf. You want the kerf to be as tight as possible. The Flying Dutchman puzzle blades are a # 3/0 skip tooth blade, which will cut a fine kerf in woods as thick as 1/4". So, if you want to stack cut, you need a larger size blade, which will make a wider kerf. For that reason, I would no stack cut a puzzle. When I decided to cut my first jigsaw puzzle there where patterns available, but I decided I wanted to cut it freehand. So I. Practiced on some good 1/4" Baltic birch plywood. I cut about a quarter of the 12"x12" sheet of plywood when I decided it was time to go for it. The result is what I use for my icon.
  18. You did a great job on that!
  19. Another beauty Brian!
  20. That came out great!
  21. Wow, think what we could do with that! Thank for showing it Larry!
  22. I can't help you with a quieter vac. I have a dust collector hooked up to my saw. Dust collectors are a lot quieter than shop vacs but can still be noisy. So I wear wireless headfones when I'm scrolling. Usually listening to music or TV if there is a football game or NASCAR race on. Scroll saws are not too noisy by themselves, but anytime you use most woodworking tools including shop vacs and dust collectors you need to wear hearing protection.
