  1. There is a specific set of clamps for the DeWALT saw. The upper clamp does not have the tension lever.
  2. I don’t know about the Seyco or EX type saws, but the clamps on DeWALT saws are loose like that. Once tensioned, they don’t move.
  3. I am not back to work yet. My muscles are all still very week. I was supposed to retire this June. I don’t think I will be strong enough to do the work I was doing for quite a while. So, I don’t know if I will go back to work.
  4. After three abdominal surgeries and ten weeks in the hospital over a seven month period, I’m finally back on the scroll saw! It was like riding a bike, a little wobbly, but quickly became as easy as it used to be. The biggest problem I had is my back is hurting. I lost about 30 pounds in the hospital stays and lost a lot of muscle mass, so my back is very week. I’ve gained most of my weight back, but working on strengthening my muscles. I’ll be in the shop all day tomorrow as I have a lot of catching up to do!
  5. If you absolutely want an EX21, Amazon has them, but if I was going to replace my DeWalt, I would go with the Pegas.
  6. Ops, forgot to proof read!
  7. Toni was a home hair care product sold in the 1960’s. The quote was from a commercial that showed a set of twins. One had her hair professionally done and the other done at home with Toni products, thus the question :” Which twin has the Toni?”. yes, I remember!
  8. An amazing cut!
  9. I saw it this morning! Just think, we new him when he was just a rookie, congratulations Dave!
  10. Beautiful work Marg!
  11. It is never advised to use silicone on any woodworking tool surface as the silicone can interfere with some finishes.
  12. This is the first time I have heard of them. Thanks Ray!
  13. A lot of veining on that one Pete. Very nice cut!
  14. Yes, Brenda is right. It is Called veining. Some veins are cut from the outside, and some are cut from an inside cut. And some you have to drill into the blank to cut. To see a very good example of veining, go over to bragging Rites and look at Scrollerpete’s cut under Another Dog Pattern by Iggy.
  15. Nice work Rob! Seeing as they are both cut from the same wood, is the color difference due too light?
  16. From my view, the small one is too small and the larger one is too big. For the pattern size, I would go with the clock size recommended.
  17. Nice work! You said you tried a 2/0 blade, but didn’t say what brand and type. I and many have reported that Flying Dutchman UR and Skiptooth. blades are uncontrollable. If I need to use a 2/0 blade, I’ll use Olson.
  18. I keep a stack of bricks in my shop. I’ll lay a scrap piece of plywood on top of the pieces I’m gluing then stack some bricks on top of that.
  19. I never recommend slow speeds because that is what happens!
  20. I never cut less than 1/4” thick for that reason. The remedy is to layer two or three pieces to make a thicker “stack”. This is known as stack cutting. This will give you better control of your cutting.
  21. Hey Larry, Ray did reply that after checking, he decided that his bit was not long enough and has ordered longer drill bits.
  22. Hey Les, those pictures are of my drill press, not JT’s.
  23. Looks great Steve! That is on my to do list if and when I get back to the shop.
  24. I also have a Delta 12” table mount drill press. I love the locking ring to set the depth. It quick and easy to set. Mine is model #11-990.
  25. Most of the scroll saw books are published by Fox Chapel here in the U.S. it is illegal what he is trying to sell!
