  1. I like how you did this with the backer, turned out great!
  2. Looks great! You did a great job on those letters.
  3. Congratulations! Nothing better than the first sale.
  4. Looks great! Nice use of color too!
  5. Patience. When I was first starting I would find myself rushing trying to get on to the next cut and had my share of unfortunate breaks or bad cuts. Now I put on some good music and just take my time and let the blade do the work. Your job as a scroller is to simply guide the blade on its path. Other than that practice and more practice.
  6. Nothing in the workshop, but I used to work as a framing carpenter and had a skill saw jump while ripping a sheet of plywood. Thank god I was wearing steel toe boots or I probably wouldn't have toes right now.
  7. Wow that is very nice! Great job! The layering really gives it a great effect. I may have to track down this pattern.
  8. Excellent work! I imagine any Vet would love to have that hanging on their wall.
  9. Sorry to hear this Ducky, hope it heals up quickly for you.
  10. Thanks ya'll for the advice, I'll give it a go tomorrow after work and I'll be sure to check back and let you know how it works out. Josh
  11. Hi ya'll, I'm once again in need of advice from the experts. I have a Delta 40-694 saw that I've only had a few months now. Recently I've been having some trouble getting good tension on the blades. What is happening is the blade is slipping in the top holder as I apply tension to it. I always use sand paper on both ends of the blade before placing it in the saw and that was working up until recently. I'm just curious if anyone has any tips or solutions for me? Any help will be appreciated as always. Thanks, Josh
  12. Very nicely done!
  13. They look great Gator. I especially like the Magic the Gathering one since I'm a fan of the game itself...lol
  14. These are amazing, you've done a wonderful job of capturing the emotion of the photograph in wood.
  15. Nice work Kevin. You really are a cutting machine!
  16. Just finished this up as a gift to my Nephew for his graduation this week. My first attempt at making my own intersecting word art pattern as well. Thanks to Travis for the wonderful tutorial.
  17. This is truely amazing. Those eyes and the feeling of deep thought portrayed in wood is an amazing feat. Great job!
  18. Looks great and a great addition to any Steelers fan's man cave! Straight lines can take some getting used to, but make sure your blade is nice and tightly tensioned. Good tension makes the straight lines a bit easier.
  19. I guess I'm in the minority as I usually have at least three or four projects I'm "In the middle of" at a time. And that's just cutting. when it comes to finishing... well I'll let you know if I ever get around to finishing anything...lol.
  20. Very nicely done!!
  21. Congratulations!!
  22. I too have had a great experience ordering from Sue Mey. Very quick service. I'd also like to point out that I ordered a pattern from Old Crow Scrollwerks today and had it in my email less than 30 minutes after purchase. Always good doing business with folks who take customer service to heart.
  23. It always breaks my heart to hear of a child passing, this will be a great remeberance. It looks wonderful.
  24. Very well done!
