  1. Are you going to register a new breed with the AKC?
  2. I vote for a planer. I see that you are in Lexington. You are close enough to some really great hardwood mills ( Morehead, Frankfort, Somerset ect,) that you could buy rough stock and finish it yourself. There is a really nice little mill at Frankfort (Bagdad Lumber) that has a really nice selection of woods in stock. Morehead has several nice mills. All of these have their own drying facilities.
  3. I always take them to a copy shop have the whole thing scanned then cut the scanned copy up and scan them into a file.
  4. I thought that was what Mineral Spirits was for!!!!!
  5. Polycarbonate should be same as Lexan. I use it when i heed an unbreakable window ect.
  6. I believe that beast was designed for metal. there was a shop near here that at one time made custom railing, doors ect. They had one similar to this one. Would cut 1/8" steel.
  7. I know who it is and that's a heck of a good job.
  8. Sure looks like it to me. I have a few boards that have the same look.
  9. I just saw this and thought it was interesting. I have not tried this method but can see where it would solve several problems. http://www.woodworkersjournal.com/video-transfer-patterns-lacquer-thinner/
Some cool new patterns this year. I wont get to cut any this time but see several that I would like to try when I get the chance. As always our donations go to the local food banks. Merry Christmas to all.
  10. Do you also wear the kilt while you scroll?
  11. Thanks. I haven't got into mine yet so I cant say if they look the same. I am like you I never saw the need for the variable speed I think it should be turning wide open. I have a full size very old Sears jointer that works good but that one was handy for short work.
  12. Hey Kev Can you post a how to do this? I have one of the Delta's that has the same problem and I figured there was a way to do it just haven't had the time to set down and figure it out. Thanks Larry
  13. I believe that is Jimmy Dean on the sausage.
  14. Don't hate me but were the bottles mixed well (shaken)? All acrylic or latex paint is water clean up.
  15. I knew that it would be great when you finished it and I was right.
  16. Hey Marg. Mingo county is in the state of West Virginia I live in Wayne county West Virginia one county north of Mingo. A county is a division of the state similar to a parish. KY is the abbreviation for the state of Kentucky which borders WV on the west side. As for the Bloody Mingo go back to my introduction post. It more or less explains the Hatfield and McCoy feud. Hope this helps.
  17. Thanks Randy I will try that one as soon as I get finished with Moms house.
  18. Beautiful work. Are the coasters different woods or painted?
  19. Hey Bobby find you a Chiropractor. That is what Keeps me going. I highly recommend a good one.

  21. I have ordered many of Sues E mags and never had a problem. Order tonight and it would be in my in box Tomorrow. There was another start up for a while but don.t know what ever happened with it.
  22. Looks great to me. Is that pattern available?
  23. If it has to do with Jimmy it has to be good. I like it.
  24. Well long story but I will try to shorten it down. I came into contact with a gentleman from Yakima Washington that thought he was one of the last members of his family. Little did he know that there were many members of his family in KY my ex wife being one of them. Jon was a scroller and sent her a beautiful carousel horse made of walnut. My ex decided that she wanted to try her hand with the scroll saw so I purchased a Delta that I still have. She tried the saw decapitated an angle and decided that it was a sign from God and never tried again. The saw sat for several months until one day I thought I would give it a try. Well I fell in love with the saw and the relaxation that it brought. That was in 1998 or 99 and the rest is history. I don't get to saw much any more, Life has gotten in the way. I keep holding out for retirement to come around and hopefully give me some scrolling time. I did try selling some in the early 2000's but not since. I hope to try again after retirement. I have always been a tool junkie so I cant say that this caused it. I feel that I have greatly improved over the years but have gotten rusty again. There I go waiting for retirement again to get back in shape. I really enjoy anything to do with wood. I want to someday try turning but other than that I have done most of the other. Not great at it but decent.
