  1. Hi everyone. I got these plans from Carmichaels workshop. I thought I would give it a try. I had a lot of 3/4 plywood hanging around so I figured I would use it. I'm not quite done yet but most of it is finished. I just have to put the two front drawers together for storage., The pieces are all cut out already but I had to take a break. Also have to pick up a few bolts to anchor it down. t gives me a little more room on my workbench. I might also paint it. Not sure yet.
  2. That came out great. Love the colors. Might have to try one with the clay .
  3. That came out pretty good for the first one. They look so hard to do. I would love to try and make one but I don't know where I would start.
  4. Looking good so far.
  5. Great job Dave. How do you get the inlay to fit so tight. Love the way the drawers are curved to.
  6. Good idea Pete. I'll try that. Just happen to have some lint from my dryer now. LOL.
  7. Dan, there really easy to paint. I use that craft paint and it dries in minutes, then I dip the whole piece in a can of poly.
  8. Great job on that Tony. You do have a few delicate spots there with some of those letters.
  9. Wow Kevin, I really like that one. great idea with the pictures on the wood. No room for error there. That glitter must of been a pain to put on.
  10. Kevin, take a break. Your making me tired just looking at all your stuff.
  11. These are some of the houses I did. I wanted to show Dan how I painted the roof on some of them. I did about 30 of them so far. I might make the hole a little smaller like Dan said. 1/2 inch does look to big.
  12. They look great Dan. I love the stand for them to. Might have to make that. I made about 30 of them so far with 5 different woods. Some of them that have the roof shape, i just painted the roof different colors and left the rest plain and painted the bird to match them, and few coats of poly. Sole a few already for $10.00 each and I made about 13 of them and gave them to the boys in my kindergarten class on the last day of school. The girls, I made fairies with sparkle on them.
  13. I just got a weathered piece of 3/4 wood from my kindergarten class on the last day of school. Looks like a 12 x 12. They know I work with wood so one of the kids gave me that. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.
  14. Really sorry to hear that. He was a great guy when you had the chance to talk to him. Always very help full. RIP Mike.
  15. Boy, that seems like a lot of work. Looks good though.
  16. Looks great Pete. Do you have a black backing on that.
  17. Keven, they still look great. I love the cedar. We all make mistakes so don't think your alone on that one. Maybe you can cut that piece where the y is missing and just cut another y and glue the pieces together and then paint it to hide the seams.
  18. Another great job.
  19. Great job on cutting those. Love the colors. What size blade are you using.
  20. That came out excellent. There's a lot of detail there and you did it with a spiral blade to. WOW!
  21. That came out good. I love the background. Really pulls it all together.
  22. Picture is great. I think just the wire would do it. Horse shoes are kinda big. May if they were smaller.
  23. Well thanks everyone for all the good advice. I think I will try some with the BLO and maybe the Danish oil.
  24. Thanks Dan. I used Bass wood with this one because that was all I had left in 2 inch stock. I'm thinking on doing another one in maybe walnut or oak or cherry. not sure yet. I have some of the 50/50 left so maybe I'll try that first on this piece and see how it looks. I'll have to try that semi gloss lacquer to. I always used gloss poly on a lot of the stuff I did. Thanks for the advice.
  25. WoW Ron, just amazing. Great finish on it to. Is that a spray finish or a brush job.
