  1. Yeah but man what a banister!!!! Russ
  2. I know we have forum guidelines here so I really can't share what I call two of my machines . . . . Russ
  3. Thanks a bunch,, I really do love "silly crap"! Russ
  4. just for these emergencies I also have bottled water and a small generator just in case the power is out! Russ
  5. Congrats! But here is a tidbit to ponder. When I was working I had weekends off, now that I'm retired it's seven days a week Make SURE that you do allow time for scrolling! Again congrats! Enjoy your new life. Russ
  6. Not quite 78 here but that's OK. It just means I have more shop time as the outside work has to wait! Russ
  7. Amazon $89 https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Drafting-Stool-Adjustable-Foot/dp/B072Y2S76T/ref=pd_lpo_2?pd_rd_i=B072Y2S76T&psc=1 Russ
  8. And it's not fries, its bacon or hash browns! Thanks for da grins! Russ
  9. While it's not really a joke, but watching me working in my shop is sometimes very humerus! Russ
  10. Thanks Jerry I needed those! Still grinnin'! Russ
  11. Some on here might be called craftsman, a few ARE called artists! Well done, a great piece! Russ
  12. What I use for hanging heavy items is called a "french cleat". It's really pretty simple as the attached video will show. The pix is of a sign at our club. It is an eight footer made from 4 sheets of ply! Quite heavy but it made the hanging a snap. Russ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFvced0deZ8
  13. I dislike the "match" racing format. I would rather see all contenders every time they race. Just my opinion. I have raced 110's (old), 505's (a little newer) and 470's in large fleet races. Have also raced with a C&C 30 which was "almost" as exciting. The foilers are cool but I agree, sailing is in a mono hull! Russ
  14. Thanks guys, glad to see we are really a "brotherhood" in more things than just scrolling! While I was at HD I got a new wet/dry vac. I hope my wife likes it! Russ
  15. So my great grandson goes down stairs and yells out "there's water everywhere!". So I go down and its the pvc pipe coming from the air bladder tank from the well! Shut off the well motor. So off to the Hardware store trip #1 (it's actually only a couple of miles, which is a good thing as you'll find out). I'm not sure what size so I get both 2 1/2 and 2 inch parts and pipe. Back Home. Start to do the repair and yes you guessed it already, the pipe is actually 1 1/4 (never knew there was such a size}. Back to hdwe trip #2. Got almost all of the parts. Back home. Started to make the insert piece and discover I need a sleeve piece. Back to hdwe trip #3. Back home. Oh the hdwe is closing as I walk out the door and they aren't open on Sundays. I get home, finish off the part and start to install the replacement goodies. Here's the final straw, I cross threaded the part!!! Going to bed and then it's off to Home Depot at 7:00 in the AM (33 miles away)! So I'll ask again, ever have one of those days! Russ
