  1. Dan, I charged $40 a piece for these. Do you think that I priced them right? To answer your question on retired I would need to know your definition. My definition of retired is.......... likeing what you are doing and not feel trapped. I guess I have been retired most of my life. dave
  2. A grandma at the Farmers Market I met ordered trinket boxes for all (16) her Grand kids. The girls are a combination of cherry, maple and walnut. The boys are maple and walnut. I delivered them Friday and she ordered two more for freinds. Great order, but I was ready to have them done. The boxes measure 6" x 8" x 3" deep. dave
  3. Must be the season to get hitched. I sure have had several wedding plaques to make. I really don't remember where I found the clip art. I had to make some changes on it so it would work to scroll. The plaque is made of 5/8" red oak stained special walnut measures about 12" x 14". dave
  4. I really like those. Nice job! daved
  5. Nice job and that's for sure. dave
  6. Nice work. dave
  7. Larry liked the detailed one and his wife liked the other one. I gave both to them to for the price of one. I have been in different businesses all my life and I have always had the philosophy to deliver more than I promise. I sure in the heck am not doing this for the money anyway. dave
  8. Got er done. This was the first job that I used a sponge roller to apply the glue. Usually I use a tiny glue bottle. I guess I was too stingy with the glue. I guess I have always been a rebel and do things a bit different. I tried using glue and was worried about making a mess out of it. I took a 1/32" drill bit and found a 1/2" brad that was a touche bigger. I was very careful in measuring. Nothing cracked or broke so I am totally pleased. Thanks to all of you for your comments. dave
  9. Welcome! Try all the ideas........You will find one that works for you. dave

  13. Glued down with Tite Bond 11
  14. Tony, haven't seen you in a while. Welcome back. Could they be painted and then sanded off?
  15. I glued up a plaque today with a lot of fretwork on it. There are a couple of loose pieces on it. I have an 18 gauge nail gun and I thought about shooting them from the back side but I would cry if they split. Any ideas? dave
  16. Great pattern and you did a beautiful job cutting it. dave
  17. Looks great. I love the look of Bamboo. dave
  18. I stack cut two pieces of Walnut plywood. Did detail on one pig but not the other. I will be interested to see tomorrow which one Larry likes better. I tried to include the Bible verse but was too small for me to do at my skill level. I used 1/2" Baltic birch for the backer and 1/8" for the name to overlay the walnut. dave
  19. I use regular paper if there is a little rough place after my project is complete. I use a precatalized lacquer. Maybe there is a differance between products but I have always sanded and I feel like I get a better finish by doing it. I enjoy all the imput though. dave
  20. Rolf, That looks like a good one. Thanks, dave
  21. Great design Jim. You did a great job rounding off all the edges. dave
  22. Makes a fella mad when you mess something up and you don't notice it until it's done. Nice work though. dave
  23. Jerry, They look good. What type of paint are you using? dave
  24. Looks like there is a dusting of snow on them. dave
  25. A dollar won't buy a thing any more. How many per hour can you do? Maybe they are too small but when I stack cut baltic birch I do 6 at a time but I am probably doing bigger things. I'm sure you have tried more. dave
