Pardon my ignorance but I am definitely a newby at scrolling. How does a person learn this technique of taking a picture and turning it into a scroll portrait? Your pictures turned out very nice. Dave

As you can see by my first post I am not very computer savvy. I could not see how to attach my picture to my profile so I attached it to my post. I have purchased a Porter Cable. It is a pretty nice saw for the money but I can tell already that if I get serious it won't be long before I upgrade. One of my first projects was to make a new plate that goes around the blade. It is sad that the manufacturer doesn't even supply one that is the right thickness. I realize you get what you pay for though. I have done a couple of small projects so far. I ordered an assortment of blades today to try to figure out what blade works well for different types and thicknesses of wood. Do any of you make money with your scroll work or is that not possible? It would be nice to think that if I would get good at this that it would be a hobby that would not cost me a bunch of money.

I am semi retired and a newbie to scrolling. I have enjoyed woodworking most of my life. I thought I might try scrolling so I could take it with me when I go south for the winter. I am anxious to learn from all of you. Dave
