  1. Thanks Frank. For me, Shellac right out of the can is too thick. Diluting it 50% with denatured alcohol makes it thin enough to act as a sanding sealer. Usually I dip in the solution and let air dry. After a light sanding, it is ready to finish.
  2. Thanks.
  3. Bass plaque is finished. The pattern is by Steve Good. It was cut using 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood and backed with 3/8" Baltic Birch plywood stained Walnut. It was cut on the Pegas Scroll Saw using Pegas #1R MGT and #0 Spiral blades. The finish was one dipping in diluted Shellac and two coats MinWax Lacquer Clear Satin with light sanding between coats. Comments welcome.
  4. Not sure, but at this time only suggested maintenance items.
  5. Everyone is extremely well done. I must get that book.
  6. Wonderful cutting, Jim. I like to darker one.
  7. Colors really make them pop!
  8. How many layers? Why not standard frame size of 8" x 10"?
  9. The Pegas Chuck Head Sets are a great replacement on most saws. I replaced them on my EX21 several years ago, even before I became a Pegas dealer. What an improvement. Over time, the set and thumb screw made need replacing. In addition the tension lever will wear. In fact, Pegas ships hese parts with each new saw. I keep these in stock at most times.
  10. Glad you are on the mend. Wonderful cutting.
  11. Hey Ralph, glad you are back on the forum. I hope you get back to scrolling soon.
  12. I also talked with Karen about the slide through Christmas ornaments. I couldn't find them on the website nd she found them for me.
  13. Happy you got them installed, Brend. It was a joy talking with you.
  14. Thanks Frank. That would really make it a keepsake.
  15. Thanks Marg. Actually a present for some very good friends.
  16. Thanks Bill. I hope so. It will be in the mail tomorrow.
  17. Thanks Bobby. I thought for sure there would be something at Wally World.
  18. Ray, I used Testers Silver paint. The paint we used years ago on models.
  19. Thanks Ray. The silver does not show up well in the photo.
  20. Finally finished. I had a hard time finding silver paint. This is a modified Sue Mey pattern. Using 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood and backed with 3/8" Baltic Birch plywood. Cut on the Pegas scroll saw using Pegas #1R MGT blades. I should have used a thicker blade on the veining by the hearts. Comments welcome.
  21. Welcome to the Village forum from Tennessee.
  22. Congrats on the sales. I have similar responses at ArtCrafters. I first explain it is not CNC or laser. When I mention a scroll saw I get puzzled looks. It is nice to have the Pegas to show people what a scroll saw can do.
  23. I had the same problem and switched to #0. But you do marquetry and need the smallest blade. I would not recommend using the black knob on the back as this is for maintaining the upper arm parallel to the table. The suggestion of a little slack before tightening might work.
