Hi Paul. This is such a lovely piece of work, both in the cutting and the detail. Sorry but I have to disagree with you... the slightly darker colour sets it off pretty well to me. It gives it a sort of "late evening" look. Although I usually use much lighter wood myself, this darker shade gives it a certain character that just adds to the beauty. :thumbs: Oh and by the way, although I love feathers and think they are great, I would use them in framing this! Just my opinion. Great job. Tony

Beautiful Dave. I love these plaques that you guys create and am very envious. When it comes to certain thicknesses of wood it is such a drawback with a fret saw. Tried something a while back and was all over the place, needed a lot more control to keep the blade at 90 degrees! Great job though. Colour combination is just right! Tony

Thanks Kevin. Actually I did put my whole heart into this one. There were a few times I thought a few small bits were going to break off but managed to get it done in the end. Took about 7 hours to cut! Tony

A friend of mine showed me a picture of her nieces and asked if it would be possible to create a portrait for her. After much fiddling around with the pattern I was pretty content with it and managed to do quite a neat cutting for her. Tony
