  1. Well... now I'm wondering if I'll get a saw tomorrow or not... Email from UPS last Friday said delivery tomorrow... but when I pull up the tracking number, it says it hasn't been picked up. A mystery... UPDATE: Mystery solved. I emailed them, here is their response. LOL Hi Scott, I have spoken with the production team who is sending these out. They are backed up with the saw's as we have so many coming and going in the last week. They want them all out by end of the week so if you haven't received an update by end of day tomorrow please give us a call so we can sort that out for you. Warm regards,
  2. I hate that you won't receive it for another 11 months.
  3. Ordered mine from Bear Woods. They were taking pre-orders in January and I signed up for one from the first shipment they were going to receive.
  4. Mine says the same thing, but I received an email from UPS with my delivery date of Tuesday, so we'll see if it's coming "next day air"
  5. Great news Dave. Mine arrives Tuesday. We'll see how long it takes me to wear one out.
  6. Holy crap...I can't even make and sell silly little animal puzzles without an attempted scam... Received an email from a "customer" asking about how to order and maybe paying by check. I told her she could order online and pay by credit card or Paypal but if she wanted to pay by check to let me know and I'd supply my mailing addres... This was the response... Really? Screw you for wasting my time... Hi Scott, Thanks for your response,i must tell you I intend to give my husband a surprise with the immediate purchase of the piece. Also If you'd like to know, I'm relocating to Canada soon and our wedding anniversary is fast approaching. So I'm trying to gather some good stuff to make this event a surprise one. I am buying the piece as part of gifts to him (quickly before someone else grabs it). If we agree on a reasonable price,I will authorize a CHECK to you for the payment. As regarding shipping, you don't have to worry about that in order not to leave any clue to my husband for the surprise. My shipping agent (who is also moving my Truck and my Properties) will contact you to arrange for the pick-up of the piece (this is to avoid my husband receiving it,if been shipped directly to my address would ruin the surprise for this event). You both have to sign a proof of pick up at the most. So as soon as you receive the CHECK and it clears in your bank, my shipping agent will get intouch.. As regarding payment, I would like to inform you, that my husband handles the family credit card/bank and PayPal transaction. So i would authorize a CHECK to you for the payment.I would have handled this much differently if I'd been at home but at the moment, am on training voyage to the North Atlantic Ocean, with new hires who are fresh from graduate school and won't be back for another couple of weeks. Regards, Pamela Mcallister. PS: In the meantime, kindly get back to me with your FULL NAME as you want it to appear on the CHECK, ADDRESS (PHYSICAL ADDRESS PLS..FedEx does not deliever to P.O.BOX ) where you want the CHECK delivered by courier service including your ZIPCODE and PHONE NUMBER, so the CHECK can be sent right away.
  7. Best of luck Kevin... I feel your pain.
  8. If you leave now you'd arrive around the same time as NC Scroller and we can have a party.
  9. Absolutely, would very much enjoy having you visit. Please keep me posted so we can coordinate something.
  10. I saw the recommendation above and thought... "ugh, I'll just live with it." LOL I've had to take the top apart before on one of my first saws when the tensioner would max out at 5, so I know exactly what is being described... I just don't feel like doing it, I can clamp blades in for now without too much trouble. I have a new Pegas saw on the way, so, screw it.
  11. I just received word that the Pegas saw that I pre-ordered is going to ship in the next week... Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy...
  12. Funny this is coming up... My newest DW I can barely clamp the blade due to the gap between clamps being more than usual (compared to my previous 3 DW's). I just brushed it off and am able to clamp the blade if I'm careful to clamp the top right at the end of the blade. But sounds like Chuck can't even get his to clamp due to the issue.
  13. Very nice of you to say. It took a lot of work to get all of Harvey's patterns uploaded and organized on the site for automatic downloads, but it has been soooo worthwhile. I'm glad it works smoothly.
  14. Valid point Ralph... over 3,000 puzzles and I've never had a customer say anything to me about it even when they've come back and bought more puzzles. Pluse I really like the fact that the mineral oil is "kid and pet friendly" in the event they get into a mouth. I should just be happy with what I'm doing.
  15. Good stuff Bill, thank you very much for the comparison and details. (Thanks to everyone that has chimed in so far). I do hesitate about the BLO soaked rags, however, I don't wipe off excess with the mineral oil, I simply lay on a drying rack and planned on doing the same with the BLO. Anything wrong with that approach that you know of?
  16. Hey Rob, thanks for the new puzzle zombies. Always happy to have more. First test with the BLO mix was OK. Need to test my scrap pieces again for any "bleeding" on a paper towel compared to mineral oil pieces. I'm just so set in my ways it's hard for me to make a change... I love the simplicity of the mineral oil... no mixing, it doesn't need stirring, I just buy it by the gallon and use it when I need it... We'll see.
  17. Hey Marg, So far the BLO/Mineral Spirits mixture wasn't much better than my usual mineral oil. Will continue experimenting.
  18. Be careful... you'll become a puzzle zombie. FYI - The one that says CAT in the body is by Harvey Byler. I sell his patterns for him. You can see over 500 of his patterns on my site. Scroll down to the PATTERNS area. They're $3 each. www.WoodcraftByScott.com
  19. Iggy's Ark... Lined up ready to board... This time the dinosaurs are saved! Last week's cuttings ready for shrink wrapping.
  20. Wrapping up the Go-To Guide... Mrs. Iggy working hard finalizing all of the pages and we'll go to print next Monday. Then when I get the guides in hand I'll start trying to sign new customers for next year once they see how great this years looks and they missed out.
  21. After 2 months off from cutting I'm starting to get back into the rhythm... A nice assortment cut over the weekend. Goal is 40 a week til my events begin Easter weekend (April 19/20 Fri/Sat). I have 3 major weekend events in a row right out of the gate. I should hear about my new Pegas saw soon. Look forward to trying it out. Iggy
  22. I have opened a serious can of worms, haven't I? LOL As always, a wealth of information here at SSV and very much appreciated. I mixed some BLO and Mineral Spirits and dipped a couple pieces of scrap in it and have it drying to see how it does. I'll experiment with the other suggestions here as well. Keep chiming in, I'm all ears.
  23. So, now should I be considering the Danish oil? Not due to cost, but due to it being a better option in general?
  24. 10 minutes? Wow. Is there a particular reason? To allow it to soak in? I'm just looking to bring out the color of the wood (poplar) so a quick dip and drip dry is what I'm used to doing with the mineral oil.
  25. Keep 'em comin' folks. Thanks. I seem to remember someone saying 70/30 ratio. I did buy odorless mineral spirits although I haven't opened it yet to see if it truly is odorless or just "tolerable" LOL
