  1. Thanks for the comments. I found this to be true early on, seems everyone else had something for me to do just to keep me from "getting bored". That is a sample of my wifes hand crafts that were vetted for an upcoming show. I provided two 3/16 dowel rods for the legs. Every row has X amount of counted stiches and the count in each row is increased or decreased by 2-3 stiches to reach the desired diameter or shape. This bird is just about 5" tall. My pieces are just to fill table space.
  2. Haven't posted in a while and my saw has been collecting dust. I've been in the shop but just not scrolling, recently retired and now I have an extra 40 hrs. a week of "me time". My Wife does crochet work, dolls, animals and is doing a show in December so the me time just became "her time". Its a Christmas show so now I'm involved. Just like riding a bike, broke a few blades but I'm back in the seat. Patterns are Spielman & Reidle Candy Cane by Travis. Thanks for looking
  3. I've recently discovered Duck brand contact paper from wally world. 12" x 30' for 6.00. I use a small 4" ink roller to lay it down and haven't had any problems with it lifting or when I remove it.
  4. Sorry to hear about your light Marg. I think you'll find that the problem is the "driver". Similar to a fluorescent ballast, usually small cube with two input wires( L/N ) and two output wires ( +/- ). You might unplug the unit and check the connections to the driver, rare for the LED's to go bad. As others have said, dust could be a problem on a circuit board. See if you can get a number off of the driver itself, they do make replacements. Voltage and wattage is what you'll need to order. In your case 220-240V. 9 watts. Hope this helps.
  5. Great job and beautiful choices on the wood. The details & finish sends these over the top.
  6. Looked at the first picture and then the second, went back to the first and realized " wow those are flowers & leaves". Great job, gives a whole new dimension to the clock.
  7. Klatimer, to avoid the shortfall of not having one set for yourself try a Christmas in July. I have my in-laws Aunts, Daughters & wife tell me what they want for X-mas no later than July 4th, this way I have plenty of time to make it and they have plenty of time to forget they were getting it for X-mas.
  8. I'll have to agree with the others, I think your well pass the learning curve. Look great.
  9. Great job, and the way you softened the edges adds a great look to these.
  10. Beautiful piece, great choice of wood & your patience with the finish really pays off.
  11. Thanks for the compliments. My wife's Uncle has 2- 4x8 sheets of mirror acrylic he's being trying to give away for 10 years and not once did I think of using that as a backer. Thanks for the idea.
  12. Did this Santa on 1/4" bb ply glued to 3/8" mahogany ply with a cherry frame. Not sure of the author, please post if you know. The bell is Volker Arnold done on 3/16" oak glued to mahogany. Cut the inside of the pattern and then glued the backer & finished the inside of the ribbon & then the outside of the pattern. Thanks for looking.
  13. I hope it helps taking the guess work out of matching project to blade. In time it will come naturally.
  14. I keep a copy of this in my shop: ScrollChart.pdf
  15. Everyone wants Oak at Pine prices.
  16. +1 on the square.
  17. Awesome piece, your patience really shows through.
  18. Very nice & very respectful. I like the mix of materials.
  19. Welcome from the Buckeye state and Thank You for your service.
  20. Beautiful piece & great choice of woods.
  21. :smitten:Great job on the piece.
  22. This is nice but, I think I'm going to withhold judgment on this until I see the "sweets" that Andrew mentions. To tempt us with said sweets just makes the sweet tooth itchy. I think there are some brownies left, I'll be right back.
  23. Great job.
  24. Welcome to the forum.
  25. Nicely done. The backer really makes the bird stand proud.
